Job summary

OFFSHORE BUSINESS PROCESSING INC. in Metro Manila (Ortigas, Pasig) is seeking a seasoned finance professional to join our team. You will support the Group Financial Controller across the full finance function, including AP, AR, financial accounting, management accounts, and analysis as required.

The role emphasizes accuracy, initiative, and collaboration, offering an HMO on Day 1, learning opportunities, and potential travel opportunities. This is a full-time position based onsite in Pasig.

Qualifications

• Business degree required.
• Freight forwarding industry experience preferred.
• 5+ years experience; CPA, CA, or equivalent preferred; strong hands-on finance experience considered in lieu of formal qualification.
• Working knowledge of CargoWise preferred.
• Multi-jurisdiction accounting standards (e.g. US GAAP, UK GAAP, AASB) are not required.
• Very keen attention to detail and high levels of initiative
• Outstanding analytical, problem solving, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal English business communication skills
• Full-time position available
• Amenable to report onsite in Ortigas, Pasig City

Responsibilities

• Carry out tasks across AP, AR, accounting, management accounts, and analysis under the Group Financial Controller.
• Review balance sheet and bank reconciliations, month-end reporting, analyze findings, and report to the Group Financial Controller.
• Oversee work and follow up on items needing attention, not performing processing.
• Process payroll via ADP for UK, Australia, and US, including benefits and deductions.
• Prepare finance commentary for tax return support; interact with external tax agents and gain experience.
• Support foreign currency payment processes.
• Work on ERP projects, set up ADA/bank-import files across entities, report to GC.
• Progress to preparing ERP payment batches for GC review and bank approval.
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current system usage and bring forward recommendations.
• Handle ad hoc finance tasks from analysis to admin as priorities require.

Responsibilities

• Take direction from the Group Financial Controller on tasks across the finance function and see them through to completion, spanning AP, AR, financial accounting, management accounts, and analysis as required.
• Review the work completed by existing finance team, balance sheet reconciliations, bank reconciliations, month-end reporting, analyze findings, and report back to the Group Financial Controller.
• This role oversees that work and follows up on any items needing attention, rather than performing the processing itself.
• Process payroll via ADP for three jurisdictions: UK (monthly), Australia (monthly), and US (fortnightly), including related items such as superannuation, workers' compensation, health insurance, and payroll deductions.
• Prepare finance information and commentary as requested by the Group Financial Controller, including material to support tax return preparation; the Group Financial Controller retains direct contact with external tax agents, with the role gaining exposure and experience over time.
• Support foreign currency payment processes.
• Work on numerous projects within Ecosphere's ERP system - for example, setting up ADA/bank-import files across entities - taking instructions, carrying out initial investigation, and reporting back to the Group Financial Controller.
• As trust and experience build, progress to preparing payment batches within the ERP system for the Group Financial Controller's review and bank approval.
• Identify gaps and inefficiencies in current system usage and bring forward recommendations.
• Be ready to take on a wide range of ad hoc finance tasks, from high-level analysis to hands-on administrative work, as priorities require.
