Job summary

Black & White Engineering Limited in Manila seeks a Finance Executive – Lead to oversee accounting and financial close for UK and European entities from our Manila hub. You will ensure accurate reporting, manage the general ledger, and lead a Finance team while coordinating with Group Finance, CFO, auditors, tax consultants and regulators.

You will drive statutory reporting, VAT and corporate tax filings, and support strategic reporting for lenders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• CPA qualification is preferred but not essential.
• At least eight years’ experience in accounting and finance.
• A minimum of three years’ experience managing or leading a team.
• Experience within a multinational organisation or shared-services environment is strongly preferred.
• Practical experience of VAT and taxation matters for UK and European businesses.
• Strong financial accounting knowledge, including general ledger management, balance-sheet reconciliations, month-end close and statutory reporting.
• Experience working with auditors, tax consultants, regulatory authorities and other external partners.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and confident use of other Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent written English and report-writing skills.
• Strong organisational skills and close attention to detail.
• Analytical approach with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Strong stakeholder-management and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee full-cycle general ledger accounting for UK and European entities.
• Review accounting entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, financial statements, tax returns and statutory reporting packages.
• Lead monthly close activities including prepayments, accruals, depreciation and adjusting journals.
• Manage and develop Finance team, set clear expectations and maintain high accuracy and accountability.
• Coordinate preparation and filing of statutory accounts, VAT returns and corporate tax returns.
• Support Group Finance in strategic reporting for private equity partners and lenders.
• Take responsibility for key finance systems and improvement projects within D365.
• Collaborate with auditors, tax consultants, regulatory authorities and external partners.

Are you an experienced finance professional ready to lead critical accounting activities for a fast-growing global engineering consultancy? Then this role is for you.

As Finance Executive – Lead, you will oversee key accounting and financial close activities for Black & White Engineering’s UK and European entities from our Manila global design hub.

Working closely with the local Finance team, Group Finance team and CFO, you will ensure financial information is complete, accurate and delivered consistently. You will also lead team members, manage finance systems and support projects that strengthen the efficiency and effectiveness of the Finance function.

Ownership of international financial reporting

You will oversee full-cycle general ledger accounting for assigned UK and European entities, covering daily operational activities, weekly reviews and month-end close.

Your work will include reviewing accounting entries, balance-sheet reconciliations, financial statements, tax returns and statutory reporting packages, giving you meaningful responsibility across an international group.

Lead the financial close

You will lead monthly close activities, reviewing and validating prepayments, accruals, depreciation and adjusting journal entries.

You will take responsibility for key finance systems and associated improvement projects, including work within our D365 environment.

You will be encouraged to identify better ways of working and elevate recommendations that improve controls, reporting and the overall operation of the Finance function.
