Job summary

SVT Meditech Corporation in Quezon City seeks a junior accountant to handle routine journal Entries, bank reconciliations, and monthly reporting. You will prepare financial schedules, assist with tax filings, and ensure compliance with GAAP/IFRS/PFRS. On-site work in Quezon City is required, with strong Excel and ERP experience.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and at least 1 year of related experience, including BIR filings and month-end closing procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and post routine journal entries to ensure accurate transaction coding and precise account balances.
• Execute bank, balance sheet, prepaid, and account reconciliations for timely financial closes.
• Compile balance sheets, income statements, cash flow tracking, and monthly management reporting packages.
• Maintain tax calendars and file taxes to prevent penalties; respond to tax inquiries and audits.
• Maintain archives of contracts, invoices, and financial records; enforce internal controls; on-site in Quezon City.

Job description

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING:

• Prepare, review, and post routine journal entries to ensure accurate transaction coding and precise account balances.
• Execute bank, balance sheet, prepaid, and account reconciliations to support timely financial closes.
• Compile balance sheets, income statements, cash flow tracking, and monthly management reporting packages.
• Collect data and draft filings for sales tax, VAT/GST, corporate income tax, payroll/withholding taxes, and local business licenses.
• Maintain tax calendars to ensure all statutory filings and payments are submitted on time to prevent penalties.
• Reconcile general ledger tax accounts against submitted returns and revenue authority portals.
• Gather supporting documentation and respond to tax authority inquiries, internal reviews, and external audits.
• Prepare audit schedules, transaction samples, and working papers for external financial auditors.
• Enforce internal financial controls, travel expense policies, and proper documentation standards under GAAP/IFRS/PFRS.
• Maintain structured physical and digital archives of contracts, invoices, tax forms, and financial records.
• Willing to work on-site in Quezon City.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Bachelor’s degree in accountancy, Finance, or any finance-related course.
• At least 1 year of general accounting and financial reporting experience (an advantage)
• Hands-on experience with BIR filings (VAT, Withholding Tax, Income Tax via eFPS/eBIRForms) and local business permit renewals.
• Strong knowledge of PFRS/GAAP, bank reconciliations, AP/AR management, and month-end closing procedures.
• Proficient in MS Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP) and accounting software or ERP systems.
• Experience preparing audit schedules, working papers, and enforcing internal financial controls.
