Job summary

Buhay Platforms in Metro Manila offers a Finance & Accounting Associate role with hybrid work (4 days onsite at BGC). Ideal candidates have 3 years in Finance Ops or Accounting, proficiency in QuickBooks/Xero/SAP, and a degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience in Finance Ops, Accounting, or AR/AP.
• Experience with QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar accounting software; Excel/Sheets skills required.
• Basic BIR compliance knowledge (2307, 1601C, 2550Q).
• Metro Manila-based; hybrid in BGC, Taguig.
• CPA is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Job Title: Finance & Accounting Associate

Location: BGC — Hybrid (4 days onsite)

Reports to: CEO, with guidance from CTO on data/numbers clarity, and dotted-line support from HR Head on admin-side finance questions

The Role

We're looking for someone detail-oriented and reliable to own the day-to-day finance operations of a fast-moving startup — from tracking loan disbursements and client collections to keeping our books clean and staying on top of BIR compliance. You'll work directly with our CEO, with support from our CTO on making sense of the numbers when needed, and our HR Director for admin-side questions.

This role needs someone who can take direction and run with it — even when it isn't always explained perfectly. You'll need to be resourceful enough to investigate, ask the right follow-up questions, and figure things out rather than needing everything spelled out step by step.

Key Responsibilities

Revenue & Collections:

• Track loan disbursements from lender confirmations
• Invoice clients for platform fee once loan is disbursed
• Follow up with clients, verify payments, and manage AR aging
• Coordinate with Sales to confirm disbursement and secure signed fee agreement before invoicing

Finance & Accounting Ops:

• Bank reconciliation and maintaining company books
• Encoding of expenses, AP/vendor payments, and petty cash
• Process employee reimbursements and liquidation reports
• Check payroll before payout
• Create new bank accounts and secure corporate credit cards, as needed
• Monitor subscriptions and recurring charges
• Prepare BIR docs and schedules — 2307, 1601C, 2550Q, etc.
• Track budget vs. actual and basic cash flow
• Coordinate with external accountant for financial statements and month-end close
• Prepare P&L / cash reports and docs for audit or due diligence
• Take on other finance and ops tasks as needed as we scale

Qualifications

• 3 years of hands-on experience in Finance Ops, Accounting, or AR/AP
• Working proficiency in an accounting/bookkeeping software (QuickBooks, Xero, SAP, or similar) and strong Excel/Sheets skills — QuickBooks experience is a plus but not required
• Basic BIR compliance knowledge (2307, 1601C, 2550Q, invoicing/ORs)
• Comfortable working with imperfect or unclear direction — able to investigate, ask the right follow-up questions, and figure things out rather than needing everything spelled out
• Comfortable following up directly with clients on payment
• Can work independently and wear multiple hats in a startup environment
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field — CPA is a plus but not required
• Based in Metro Manila, hybrid in BGC, Taguig
