Position : Finance and Accounting Head
Reports to : VP- Finance and Accounting
The Head of Finance &Accounting is responsible for monitoring all financial data and preparing
accurate statements for the company. He/she is also tasked with budgeting,management of tax payments, and performing internal audits. He/she will act as a consultant for senior managers, conducting cost and revenue analyses. Ultimately, he/she will ensure all our accounting transactions comply with the law and support our company’s investments.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Gather, analyze, and monitor financial data, including revenues.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Coordinate with department heads to forecast revenues and expenses for property portfolios, client accounts, and ongoing business development initiatives.
- Perform in-depth variance analyses and deliver financial insights to support management's strategic decisions, particularly in evaluating site acquisitions and commercial viability.
2. Budgeting & Forecasting
- Lead the preparation of the annual corporate budget, including department-specific budgets.
- Develop monthly and quarterly forecasts, scenario analyses, and financial models to anticipate cash flows, project profitability, and risk exposure.
3. Payroll Management
- Oversee and maintain the entire payroll process, ensuring timely and accurate computation of salaries, commissions, allowances, and government-mandated benefits.
- Ensure proper remittance of SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and BIR withholdings and prepare all related reports and reconciliations.
- Monitor employee compensation, process adjustments, and maintain confidentiality and compliance in line with company policy and labor laws.
- Prepare reports on payroll costs, commissions earned by brokers/agents, and incentive computations.
4. Government Compliance & Regulatory Reporting
- Ensure full compliance with Philippine tax laws and regulations, including but not limited to VAT, income tax, withholding tax, and expanded withholding tax.
- Handle monthly, quarterly, and annual tax filings and liaise with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), local government units, and other regulatory bodies.
- Ensure timely submission of mandatory reports to SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DOLE, and other government agencies.
- Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure timely submission of audited financial statements and required regulatory documentation.
- Monitor changes in tax laws and accounting standards and implement necessary changes to maintain full compliance.
5. Audit & Internal Controls
- Organize and lead internal audits to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls, financial systems, and risk management processes.
- Identify accounting discrepancies and implement corrective actions to strengthen accuracy and compliance.
- Work closely with external auditors and tax consultants for annual audits, tax assessments, and compliance review.
6. Bank & Cash Management
- Monitor all company bank accounts, ensuring accurate recording of transactions, reconciliations, and proper documentation of fund transfers.
- Manage disbursement schedules, cash flow projections, and account balances to support daily operations and project funding requirements.
7. Operational and Strategic Support
- Collaborate with leasing, legal, and research teams to review lease agreements, payment terms, and financial clauses in client contracts.
- Conduct risk analysis and due diligence on prospective investments, and acquisitions.
- Provide financial presentations and reports to executive leadership, board members, or investors to support strategic planning.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 1. Must hold a Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy,Financial Management, or a related field. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is strongly preferred.
- 2. At least 10 years of progressive experience in finance or accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role, ideally within the real estate, property development, or professional services industry.
- 3. Proven expertise in Philippine taxation, payroll systems, and government compliance (BIR, SSS, Pag-IBIG, PhilHealth).
- 4. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
- 5. Ability to lead and mentor a small finance team in a fast-paced, high-performance environment.
