Qualifications

• Knowledge of Philippine building standards is desirable.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

About the role

LEC STEEL MANUFACTURING CORP. is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Estimator to join our dynamic team in Metro Manila. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in our construction and steel manufacturing operations. As an Estimator, you will be responsible for analysing project specifications, calculating costs, and preparing accurate quotations that support our competitive positioning in the market. This role is integral to our project planning and financial forecasting processes, ensuring that we deliver projects on time and within budget whilst maintaining profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse project drawings, specifications, and technical documents to determine material and labour requirements

• Calculate detailed cost estimates for construction and steel manufacturing projects, including labour, materials, equipment, and overhead expenses

• Prepare and present comprehensive quotations and bids to clients in a clear and professional manner

• Research and source current market prices for steel, raw materials, and other project components

• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to gather accurate project information and clarify technical requirements

• Maintain and update estimating databases and historical cost records for future reference and analysis

• Monitor and track variations to original estimates, identifying cost overruns and recommending corrective actions

• Review competitor quotations and market trends to ensure our estimates remain competitive

• Prepare tender documents and supporting documentation as required

• Communicate effectively with clients regarding estimate queries and project requirements

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as an Estimator in construction or steel manufacturing, with a minimum of 3–5 years in the role

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and labour practices specific to steel fabrication and structural work

• Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel for cost calculations

• Excellent mathematical and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and project specifications accurately

• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients, suppliers, and internal teams

• Familiarity with Philippine building codes, standards, and regulatory requirements is highly desirable

• Knowledge of quality assurance processes and health and safety standards in construction

• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously

• Professional certification or qualifications in estimating or construction management is preferred
