You will coach, develop, and assess engineers, build training plans, and ensure smooth shift operations including night coverage. The role blends hands-on leadership with technical collaboration across Service Reliability Leads and Tech Leads.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of SRE/DevOps experience with people leadership.
• Strong Linux, Kubernetes, cloud, observability and incident management knowledge.
• Experience coaching engineers and helping them progress.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent.

Engineering People Manager in Mandaluyong

Build the people who keep critical systems running.

As an Engineering People Manager, you’ll lead a pod of 8–12 Site Reliability Engineers, helping them grow, perform, and thrive in a fast-paced 24x7 environment.

With 60–70% of the team at junior level, you’ll play a key role in turning early-career engineers into confident, capable senior SREs.

This is a hands-on people leadership role. You’ll be visible across the full shift cycle, rotating with the other Engineering People Manager—including night shifts—so you understand and support the reality of the team’s working lives.

What You’ll Do

• -Lead & develop people — Run regular 1:1s, set goals, coach performance, support wellbeing, and address behavioural issues early.
• -Build capability — Create development and training plans that align with the skills our services need, and make training part of the rota—not an afterthought.
• -Own the shift operation — Manage rotas, leave, coverage, overtime, onboarding, and shift readiness.
• -Grow talent — Mentor junior engineers, identify future leaders, support promotions, and build strong internal succession.
• -Partner with engineering leaders — Work closely with Service Reliability Leads and Tech Leads to develop both people and technical capability.

What You’ll Bring

• -5+ years of SRE or DevOps experience, with 2+ years leading or managing people.
• -Solid technical understanding of Linux, Kubernetes, public cloud, observability, and incident management.
• -A track record of coaching engineers and helping them progress
• -Confidence having direct conversations about performance, behaviours, and accountability.
• -Willingness to work across 24x7 shift bands, including nights.
• -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.

• -Coaching, EQ, or leadership training.
• -Experience developing graduates or early-career engineers.
• -Experience with competency frameworks and skills assessments.
• -Previous experience as a Duty Manager or shift lead in a 24x7 operation.
