Job summary

COMMSEC INC. is seeking an Electrical QA/QC Manager for a solar farm project in Batangas, Philippines.

You will direct QA/QC programs to ensure electrical installations meet project specs, drawings, and industry standards, coordinating with EPC contractors and clients. The role requires a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (PE/REE preferred) with 5–8 years in QA/QC for utility-scale solar or renewable energy, and strong knowledge of IEC/IEEE codes and ISO 9001:2015.

Qualifications

• 5–8 years QA/QC experience in utility-scale solar PV farms, substations or renewable energy infra.
• Deep familiarity with IEC, IEEE, ISO 9001:2015 quality mgmt systems.
• Strong analytical, NCR tracking and clear verbal/written communication for coordinating with EPC contractors and clients.

Responsibilities

• Quality Planning: Develop and implement QA/QC plans, ITPs, and method statements for all electrical works.
• Site Inspections: Conduct daily quality inspections on electrical installations including DC/AC cabling, string inverters, transformers, switchgear, grounding/lightning protection systems.
• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and validate FAT, SAT, insulation resistance, continuity, and protection relay testing prior to grid energization.
• Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document and manage NCRs, monitor corrective actions, clear punch lists before handover.
• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain compliance records, test packages, MIRs, and review final as-built drawings.

Key Responsibilities

• Quality Planning: Develop and implement project-specific Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans, Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), and method statements for all electrical works.

• Site Inspections: Conduct daily quality inspections on electrical installations, including DC/AC cabling, string inverters, central inverters, medium/high-voltage transformers, switchgear, and grounding/lightning protection systems.

• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and validate factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT), insulation resistance (megger) testing, continuity testing, and protection relay testing prior to grid energization.

• Non-Conformance Management: Identify, document, and manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), monitor corrective actions, and clear punch lists before project handover.

• Documentation & Compliance: Maintain compliance records, test packages, material submittals (MIR), and review final as-built drawings.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. A Professional Engineer (PE) license or Registered Electrical Engineer (REE) status is preferred.

• Experience: 5 to 8 years of total QA/QC experience, with a strong background in utility-scale solar PV farms, substations, or renewable energy infrastructure.

• Standards Knowledge: Deep familiarity with international and local electrical codes (IEC, IEEE, ISO 9001:2015 quality management systems).

• Soft Skills: Strong analytical capabilities, non-conformance tracking proficiency, and clear verbal and written communication for coordinating with EPC contractors and clients
