Job summary

Outsourcey is seeking an Electrical Engineer with HV experience to design and review high-voltage systems, substations, and SCADA configurations. You will conduct analyses, support feasibility studies, and oversee testing and commissioning to ensure reliability and safety of projects in the Philippines.

The role involves coordinating multi-discipline teams, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding junior engineers through complex electrical work while maintaining schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering.
• 1-3 years on high-voltage projects in related fields.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems and substation design.
• Experience with engineering software such as PowerFactory, ETAP, AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

• Design and review HV electrical systems including substations.
• Perform power system analyses and simulations as needed.
• Conduct feasibility studies and technical calculations for projects.
• Lead testing, commissioning, and maintenance of HV equipment.
• Support project management with planning and resource allocation.

Profile Requirements:

Required

• Bachelor Degree or higher qualification in Electrical Engineering.
• 1-3 years of experience as a project coordinator, project engineer or commissioning engineer working on high voltage projects in the same or similar industry.
• Strong knowledge of high-voltage systems, grid connections, generator, and substation design principles.
• Proficiency in engineering software (e.g., PowerFactory, ETAP, AutoCAD).
• Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practice, performance standards, and various Network Service Provider (NSP) standards.

Preferred

• Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) or working towards certification.
• Experience in leading multi-discipline high-voltage projects.
• Project management certification or formal training.

Core responsibilities:

Technical Expertise & Design

• Design and review electrical engineering systems, including substation layouts, SCADA configurations, and high-voltage grid connections.
• Conduct technical analysis and simulations using industry-standard software tools for power systems analysis.
• Perform technical calculations and assist with feasibility studies for new and existing projects.
• Conduct troubleshooting and diagnostics to identify and resolve complex electrical issues.
• Deliver complex electrical engineering projects, ensuring resource optimisation and adherence to project timelines.
• Oversee the testing, commissioning, and maintenance of high-voltage equipment, ensuring system performance and reliability.
• Support the management and allocation of personnel, tools, and equipment to meet project deliverables.
• Identify potential safety hazards and handle any risks according to the internal risk management process.

Business Development & Compliance

• Provide technical support to the Business Development team during tendering and proposal phases, ensuring accuracy and feasibility of cost estimations.
• Engage directly with clients, providing engineering expertise and solutions to meet project needs.
• Ensure all engineering activities meet regulatory, safety, and quality standards, and conduct regular inspections and audits.
• Perform document control and quality assurance checks throughout project lifecycles.

Administration & Team Support

• Prepare technical reports, specifications, and project documentation.
• Maintain accurate project records, including design documents, test results, and compliance certificates.
• Support with providing technical guidance and training to team members to enhance their skills and knowledge.
• Support financial tracking and budget adherence during project execution.
