Job summary

ZigZag Global is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team, reporting to an Australian engineering services unit. You will design electrical and control deliverables, from single-line diagrams to installation drawings and BOMs, across power, electrical, instrumentation and control disciplines.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation & Control, 5–7 years in mining/industrial/oil & gas, and AutoCAD experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics/Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum 5-7 years’ relevant experience in Mining/Water/Industrial/Oil & Gas industry.
• Experience in AutoCAD, Design & Drafting – required.
• Renewable Energy, Power Plants, and potentially Manufacturing background may be considered.
• Building, housing, and commercial construction backgrounds are generally not preferred.
• Experience in Power System Analysis – nice-to-have.
• Experience in PLC/HMI/SCADA programming – nice-to-have.
• Experience in Hazardous area classification – nice-to-have
• Experience in Commissioning, FAT – nice-to-have.
• Professional license – nice-to-have.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop Electrical and Control deliverables such as single-line diagrams and interconnection diagrams.
• Create General arrangement drawings, BOMs, and construction specifications.
• Prepare load, instrument, I/O, and cable schedules; layout and installation drawings.
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards and client/industry specifications.
• Communicate with engineers to interpret job requirements and notes.
• Provide services across Power, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control disciplines.
• Utilize AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, RedEye, Trello.
