Job summary

ZigZag Philippines is seeking an Electrical Designer to join our team. Reporting to an Australian engineering services company, the role focuses on delivering electrical and control drawings for mining and industrial projects, including SLDs, schematics, and installation layouts.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years of relevant experience, strong AutoCAD skills, and the ability to work independently within a collaborative team. Power systems knowledge and PLC/HMI/SCADA experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation & Control Engineering or equivalent
• Minimum 5–7 years’ relevant experience in Mining/Water/Industrial/Oil & Gas sectors
• Experience in AutoCAD, Design & Drafting is required
• Renewable Energy, Power Plants, or Manufacturing background may be considered
• Hazardous area classification experience is a plus
• PLC/HMI/SCADA experience is a plus
• Professional license is a plus

Responsibilities

• Design and develop electrical and control deliverables (single-line, schematic, interconnection diagrams)
• Produce general arrangement drawings, BOMs, and construction specs
• Create load lists, instrument lists, I/O lists, and cable schedules
• Prepare layouts, installation details, and hazardous area classifications
• Ensure compliance with drafting standards, documentation systems, QA procedures and client specs
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret requirements and notes
• Provide service across Power, Electrical, Instrumentation and Control disciplines; broader knowledge is an advantage
• Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, RedEye, and Trello
