Job summary

DM Consunji, Inc. is seeking a Safety Officer to implement safety programs on construction sites, educate personnel, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

About the role

Implements all Safety Programs and Regulations in the project site in all stages of planning and construction. Ensure all personnel are educated and well informed in safety practices in performing all aspects of work.

Key responsibilities

• Inspects worksites, reports conditions and practices not in compliance with occupational safety and health standards, codes and regulations
• Observes operations and activities, reports unsafe acts and behaviors
• Investigates accidents, near misses and safety related problems
• Identifies applicable hazards from analysis of accident reports, reports from DMCI and external sources
• Identifies elements of DMCI risk management manual not being implemented
• Prepares hazard analysis of work methods and procedures
• Evaluates risks of recognized hazards to determine priorities of corrective actions and levels of concern
• Recommends to line management/supervision that corrective actions be done to corresponding hazards and problems identified
• Conducts safety trainings
• Provides safety information, advice and recommendations as required

About you

• In depth knowledge on safety programs, hazards, accidental risks and risk control measures
• Ability to immediately identify safety hazards, accidental risk
• Ability to conduct safety training/programs, corrective/improvement programs and risk control measures
• Skilled in the preparation of safety written report
• Problem Solving & Decision Making skills
• Good communication and written skills

• Understanding of Safety rules
• Preferably Engineering Graduate
• Preferably with 3 years experience as Safety Officer in a construction company, well versed in safety policies, implementation, hazard/risk analysis, knowledgeable in computer software applications
