Cloudstaff is seeking a Digital Marketing Manager to own the firm’s paid search, SEO, website content, and email campaigns. This role collaborates with agencies, reviews performance data, and reports on pipeline contributions in a hands-on, WFH environment.
You will manage LinkedIn, YouTube and newsletters, while coordinating with the Director and Marketing Technology Manager to align brand, priorities, and budgets. The position supports a global client base from a flexible remote setup.
Job Description
Work-From-Home (CS Everywhere) - A work setup with unlimited access to the office and combined the flexibility and cost savings that comes with working from world-class offices.
The Digital Marketing Manager owns the firm’s search and digital channels: paid search delivered through the firm’s PPC agency and by managing PPC internal PPC account as well; internal SEO and the SEO agency; website content, user journeys and performance; social media, primarily LinkedIn (possibly YouTube); and the newsletter issues and campaign emails that go out on the firm’s email platform. The Director retains strategy, priorities, brand, budget and overall performance; this role owns day-to-day delivery, manages the Google Ads, SEO and website agencies, and is measured on its contribution to the pipeline. It works alongside the Marketing Technology Manager, who owns the CRM, marketing automation, email infrastructure, lead routing, attribution and funnel reporting. It is a hands-on role in a small team: you will hold agencies to account, and you will also review the ads and landing pages, publish the posts, send the emails, check the tracking and read the numbers yourself.
Manage the Google Ads, SEO and website agencies day to day: prepare briefs, review results critically using Google Analytics, Semrush and other performance data, hold each agency accountable within the Director’s strategy and budgets, and support agency comparisons and transitions. Supervise the PPC agency across Google Ads (Search and Performance Max) against cost-per-qualified-lead targets on roughly CA$30K a month of spend: QA exclusions, invalid-traffic controls, conversion signals, landing-page alignment and lead quality. A meaningful share of paid leads is currently unqualified; improving this is a priority. Direct the SEO agency to an agreed plan: technical fixes, keyword and page priorities aligned with the Head of Thought Leadership’s content plan, and search performance measured in Search Console and Semrush, including estimated traffic value. Test approved emerging channels, including AI platforms, with the agencies.
Manage website content, user journeys, performance and the delivery roadmap; supervise the web developer on changes beyond the SEO program; implement privacy requirements (cookie consent, tracking disclosures) approved through firm governance, with the Marketing Technology Manager, who owns tracking and tag management. Support the Director on the planned website project: she leads and defines brand, audiences, content strategy and scope; you manage the delivery plan, the agency, search requirements, testing and launch, and ensure the firm keeps administrative control of its domain, hosting and analytics accounts. Assemble each newsletter issue from Head of Thought Leadership content and firm news — edit and package rather than write substantive tax content — and send the email campaigns around webinars, CPD sessions, launches, awards and surveys, on the platform, templates, lists and automation the Marketing Technology Manager builds and maintains; audience building, deliverability and list growth sit with that role.
Own Google reviews and local search presence: keep the Google Business Profile current, monitor and respond to reviews, and work with the Marketing Technology Manager, who builds and runs the post-matter NPS survey and review-invitation workflow, with lawyer safeguards, in the CRM; client satisfaction policy is set by the Director. Manage the LinkedIn company page and YouTube channel: adapt and publish content from the Head of Thought Leadership, HR and other contributors, repurpose webinars, presentations and articles into posts and clips, publish new-hire announcements, and commission freelance creative and video where required. Run the webinar platform, registration, promotion, recording, follow-up and reporting per the firm playbook, with the registration and follow-up automation built by the Marketing Technology Manager; partner relationships sit with the Director.
Check that the agencies’ conversion tracking and reporting withstand scrutiny, monitor search performance in Search Console and Semrush, and track digital vendor spend against budget. The Marketing Technology Manager owns attribution (GA4, call tracking, offline conversions), lead-source data and the funnel report from click to signed matter; you contribute the paid search, SEO, website and social sections to the Director’s monthly marketing call, judged on qualified leads and signed matters rather than clicks and inquiries, and act on the conversion leaks that sit in your channels, such as unqualified paid leads or landing pages that do not convert.
Not a marketing technology or email-infrastructure role: the Marketing Technology Manager owns the selection, implementation and administration of the firm’s intake, call-tracking, CRM, marketing-automation and practice-management platforms; the email platform, lists, segmentation and deliverability; lead capture, routing and lifecycle; attribution and data quality; and the funnel dashboards. You use the data they produce, feed campaign requirements into them and flag problems with them. Not a substantive tax content role: articles, guides, presentation content and editorial quality belong to the Head of Thought Leadership; this role owns technical SEO, search performance and the SEO agency. Not an events, relationships or outbound role: partner organizations, CPD and referral programs, PR and the outbound calling program sit with the Director and the Outbound Business Development Manager. Not a strategy or brand role: strategy, priorities, brand, budget, directory submissions and media relations remain with the Director.
