Job summary

Fiber Home in Cebu City seeks an experienced Design Supervisor (Telco-FTTH) to lead the engineering design of FTTH networks. You will supervise design teams, review architecture, ensure standards compliance, and coordinate with project managers and clients to deliver high-quality solutions.

You will mentor junior engineers, maintain comprehensive design documentation, and stay current with FTTH technologies and industry practices to drive successful deployments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics or Telecommunications Engineering or related field.
• At least 5+ years in telecommunications or FTTH design/deployment.
• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in engineering.
• Strong knowledge of FTTH architecture, PON and fibre systems.
• Familiarity with CAD and network planning tools.

Responsibilities

About the role

Fiber Home is seeking an experienced Design Supervisor (Telco-FTTH) to join our engineering team in Cebu City. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in overseeing the design and technical planning of Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) telecommunications infrastructure projects. As Design Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading design teams, ensuring technical excellence, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet both client specifications and industry standards. This role is essential to our operations and directly impacts the successful deployment of cutting-edge telecommunications infrastructure across our service areas.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and manage design teams responsible for FTTH network architecture, planning, and technical specifications

• Review and approve design deliverables, including network topology diagrams, cable routing plans, and installation specifications

• Ensure all designs comply with telecommunications industry standards, safety regulations, and client requirements

• Coordinate with project managers, field teams, and clients to understand project requirements and translate them into detailed design solutions

• Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to identify and resolve technical issues before implementation

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior design engineers and support staff

• Maintain comprehensive documentation of design processes, standards, and lessons learned

• Liaise with vendors and equipment suppliers to ensure compatibility and optimal performance of network components

• Monitor project schedules and budgets related to design activities, identifying and communicating risks early

• Stay current with emerging technologies and industry best practices in FTTH deployment and telecommunications engineering

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, or related discipline

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in telecommunications or FTTH network design and deployment

• Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within an engineering environment

• Comprehensive knowledge of FTTH architecture, passive optical networks (PON), and optical fibre systems

• Proficiency with telecommunications design software and CAD tools commonly used in the industry

• Strong understanding of telecommunications standards and regulations applicable to FTTH networks

• Excellent technical communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Project management capabilities with experience coordinating multiple design projects simultaneously

• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound technical decisions under pressure

• Professional certification in telecommunications or related field (desirable)

• Experience with network planning tools and GIS mapping software (desirable)
