Job summary

REMARK STEEL STRUCTURE CORPORATION is seeking an experienced Site Engineer to support the Site Manager in developing construction plans and overseeing erection activities on site in Metro Manila. You will coordinate with Client, Consultants, and subcontractors to ensure safety, schedule adherence, and quality compliance.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in steel structure projects, with strong leadership and ability to read drawings, interpret specs, and manage multiple on-site activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or related field.
• Licensed Civil Engineer preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant construction/site experience, preferably in steel structure or similar projects.
• Previous supervisory or managerial experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of construction site operations, methods, and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural plans, specifications, and technical documents.
• Strong leadership, coordination, and team-management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and assist in training and performance monitoring of junior engineers and site staff.
• Assist in ensuring site readiness by checking layout, anchor bolts, gridlines, and elevation prior to erection activities.
• Monitor day-to-day erection works including lifting, positioning, alignment, bolting, welding, and finishing; report progress to Site Manager.
• Assist in implementing quality control procedures and ensure works comply with drawings, specs, and inspection requirements.
• Ensure daily compliance with OHS, environmental, and fire protection rules; report unsafe conditions or incidents.
• Coordinate with Client, Consultant, Main Contractor, subcontractors, and site teams to address routine site concerns and elevate critical issues to Site Manager.
• Prepare and consolidate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, quantity takeoffs, and status updates for Site Manager review.
• Assist in maintaining and organizing site documentation including method statements, checklists, ITPs, inspection records, site diaries, and as-built documents.
• Act as Officer-in-Charge (OIC) of the site in the absence of the Site Manager, within delegated authority.

About the role

Assist the Site Manager in developing construction plans and implementing erection works in accordance with the approved schedule, quality standards, and safety regulations. Support the supervision, coordination, and monitoring of engineers, foremen, erection crews, and workers on site as delegated by the Site Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Guide, mentor, and assist in the training and performance monitoring of junior engineers and site staff

• Assist in ensuring site readiness by checking layout, anchor bolts, gridlines, and elevation prior to the start of erection activities

• Ensure daily compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS), environmental, and fire protection rules, and immediately report unsafe conditions or incidents

• Prepare and consolidate daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, quantity takeoffs, and status updates for review and approval by the Site Manager

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or a related field

• Licensed Civil Engineer is preferred

• At least 5 years of relevant construction/site experience, preferably in steel structure, structural installation, industrial, or similar construction projects

• Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial position is preferred

• Strong knowledge of construction site operations, methods, and procedures

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, structural plans, specifications, and technical documents

• Strong leadership, coordination, and team-management skills

• Good decision-making, problem-solving, and organizational abilities

• Ability to manage multiple site activities and priorities effectively
