About the role
We are a US-based private equity team seeking a Deal Origination Analyst (Private Equity) to lead outbound sourcing efforts identifying acquisition targets and investment opportunities in specific US sectors. This is a dedicated, full-time deal-origination role - not a generalist sales or customer support position. You'll own the top of our deal funnel: identifying prospective companies against defined criteria, running outbound outreach campaigns, and setting up qualified conversations for our investment team. Strong candidates are persistent, organized, and comfortable with high-volume outbound work, with an interest in learning the fundamentals of how PE sourcing and qualification work.
Key responsibilities
- Identify and build target lists of prospective companies within defined US sectors and criteria (size, geography, financial profile) using research tools, databases, and public sources
- Run outbound, multi-channel outreach campaigns (email, LinkedIn, phone) to business owners, executives, and intermediaries (business brokers, M&A advisors)
- Qualify inbound and outbound leads against our investment criteria before escalating to the investment team
- Monitor business broker listings, industry news, and other trigger events (ownership changes, retirement signals, distress indicators) to identify timely opportunities
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records in our CRM - track outreach cadence, response rates, and pipeline status
- Schedule qualified introductory calls/meetings between prospects and the investment team
- Report regularly on outreach volume, response rates, qualified-lead conversion, and pipeline metric
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing, or a related field preferred
- 1–3 years of experience in SDR, business development, lead generation, deal sourcing, or outbound B2B sales
- Experience in private equity, M&A, financial services, business brokerage, or U.S. small-to-mid-market prospecting is highly preferred
- Proven experience meeting outbound prospecting, lead generation, or appointment-setting targets
- Proficiency with CRM platforms such as HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive, or similar systems
- Experience with email, LinkedIn, phone, and other sales-engagement/outreach tools
- Strong online research, company profiling, list-building, and lead qualification skills
- Hands-on experience using AI tools such as ChatGPT, Claude, or AI-assistance research/enrichment platforms for prospecting and outreach personalization
- Excellent written and verbal English communication
- Persistent and comfortable with high-volume outbound prospecting and rejection
