Job summary

Globe Telecom is seeking a Data Centre Operations professional to manage and service in-country data centre infrastructure ensuring 24x7 operations in rotating shifts. You will coordinate with vendors, oversee incidents, and maintain critical facilities systems, following ITIL practices.

The role requires knowledge of M&E, core DC equipment, and the ability to document requests and generate reports. Eligible candidates may include fresh graduates with related qualifications and a strong teamwork

Qualifications

• One year of relevant work experience in 24x7 DC or facility operations, or fresh graduate with related qualifications such as building services, mechanical engineering.
• General knowledge of Network Critical Infrastructure.
• Good knowledge of M&E and building facilities-related systems (CRACs, Chiller, PDUs, UPS, etc.).
• Meticulous team player with ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth 24x7 operation of in-country DC facilities.
• Act as Level 1 escalation for onsite incidents and major issues within SLA.
• Understand M&E and building facilities systems and related equipment.
• Document requests in internal ticketing system and maintain accurate records.
• Implement ITIL-based incident, problem and change management processes.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors and inspect completed work.
• Plan and support preventive and reactive maintenance with minimal service disruption.
• Assist audits and generate regular reports.

Job Description

Manages and services large-scale 'in-country' data centre infrastructure and facilities to ensure 24x7 operations in rotating shifts. Proactive coordination and escalation related to site operational issues and client’s requirements ensuring great customer experience at all times while also taking guidance and complying with STT GDC GDCO policies and standards.

• Support and ensure smooth 24x7 running of the operations in the 'in-country' data centre.
• Acts as Level 1 escalation point by overseeing and resolving all onsite operational incidents and major issues, responding & performing remote requests within SLA.
• Understands the M&E, security, network and plumbing systems of the building, critical facilities equipment and other equipment associated with the DC environment.
• Documents and updates accurately all requests on the internal web portal ticketing system such as user requests, incidents, provisioning, etc.
• Implements best-in-class DC operations based on ITIL and industry practices.
• Delivers ITIL compliance process conformance for incident, problem and change management.
• Ensures effective implementations of safety, security and customer support policies and procedures.
• Coordinates and provides support to contractors and vendors as well as inspecting completed work.
• Plans and supports all preventive and reactive maintenance activities with little to no disruption to the company's services.
• Participates and supports internal and external audits for internal stakeholders and customers.
• Generates accurate and regular reports when required.
• Any other duties or projects as assigned by the management.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of relevant work experience in 24x7 DC or facility operations environment, or fresh graduate with relevant qualifications such as building services, mechanical engineering
• Possess general knowledge of Network Critical Infrastructure
• Good knowledge in M&E and building facilities-related systems, such as CRACs, Chiller, PDUs, UPS, Switchgears Ops, DX cooling, Network structure cabling, Security, etc.
• Meticulous team player with the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Other Preferred Skills

• Possess relevant facilities management and/or data centre-related certifications, such as ITIL, PMP, Uptime Institute and TIA-942
• Familiar with certifications standards, such as ISO 20000 / 22301 / 27001, 45001, 9001, Uptime Institute, TIA-942
• Good contractor management and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams
• Prepared to be on 24x7 standby recall to provide extra manpower coverage when necessary
