OwnBank is seeking an experienced Credit Operations Manager to lead end-to-end loan processing, monitoring, and servicing of credit products with a focus on compliant, efficient operations and risk mitigation.

You will oversee a team, coordinate with multiple stakeholders, and ensure timely approvals, disbursements, and accurate documentation in a fast-paced banking environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • At least 5–8 years of banking experience with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in credit operations or loan processing.
  • Strong knowledge of lending products, credit documentation, and collateral management.
  • Familiarity with banking regulations, BSP circulars, and credit risk principles.
  • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills; strong attention to detail and analysis.
  • Effective written and verbal communication, with the ability to coordinate across multiple units.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end loan processing from application intake to booking and release, ensuring maker-checker controls.
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance, delinquencies, collections, and restructurings; manage post-approval conditions and collateral monitoring.
  • Ensure compliance with BSP regulations, AML/CFT, Data Privacy Act, and internal policies; prepare regulator reports.
  • Lead and develop the credit operations team; implement training and performance evaluations; establish controls to prevent errors and fraud.
  • Coordinate with branches, Credit Officers, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance and IT to support credit processes and resolve operational issues.

Job description

Job Purpose: The Credit Operations Manager oversees and accomplishes the end-to-end processing, monitoring, and servicing of all credit products within the bank. This role ensures that credit operations are compliant, efficient, accurate, and aligned with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The manager is responsible for leading the credit operations team, optimizing credit workflows, ensuring timely loan approvals and releases, enhancing customer experience, and safeguarding the bank from operational and credit-related risks.

Duties and Responsibilities:
A. Credit Processing & Administration
  • Oversee and accomplish the end-to-end loan processing cycle—from application intake, document verification, evaluation support, approval routing, booking, and release. Ensure maker-checker processing applied.
  • Ensure the credit facilities release and loan disbursements are well controlled and documented based on approved conditions and legal documents.
  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of all credit documentation, including loan agreements, financial statements, collateral documents, and regulatory forms.
  • Manage loan booking, system encoding, and loan disbursement processes in compliance with bank standards.
  • Develop and maintain efficient credit workflows and turnaround time (TAT) standards.
B. Credit Monitoring & Portfolio Management
  • Monitor loan portfolio performance including payments, collections, delinquencies, and restructuring.
  • Ensure proper maintenance of credit files and monitoring tools (post-approval conditions, collateral monitoring, insurance, renewals, etc.).
  • Coordinate with Credit Risk, Collections, and Branch Banking for timely actions on overdue accounts.
C. Compliance & Regulatory Management
  • Ensure adherence to BSP regulations, AML/CFT guidelines, Data Privacy Act, and bank credit policies.
  • Prepare and submit required reports to regulators and internal committees.
  • Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements and address audit findings promptly.
D. Team Leadership & Operational Excellence
  • Supervise and mentor credit operations staff to enhance skills, productivity, and accountability.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations, skills assessments, and process training.
  • Implement operational controls to prevent errors, fraud, and process lapses.
  • Lead initiatives for process improvement, system enhancements, and efficiency optimization.
E. Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with Branches, Credit Officers, Risk Management, Legal, Compliance, Finance, and IT to ensure smooth credit operations.
  • Provide support to business units regarding credit processes, documentation requirements, and operational issues.
  • Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to credit documentation and loan servicing.
Qualifications:
  1. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  2. At least 5–8 years of relevant banking experience, with a minimum of 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role in credit operations, loan administration, or credit processing.
  3. Strong working knowledge of retail and/or corporate lending products, credit documentation, and collateral management.
  4. Strong understanding of banking regulations, BSP circulars, and credit risk management principles.
  5. Excellent leadership, people management, and decision-making skills.
  6. High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  7. Effective communication and coordination skills, both written and verbal.
  8. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines in a fast-paced banking environment.
  9. Proficient in core banking systems, loan management systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  10. Strong customer service orientation while maintaining risk and compliance discipline.
