As a Credit Analyst, you will play a crucial role in our credit operations and risk management function. You will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness, assessing financial risk, and supporting informed lending decisions within our banking and financial services division. This role is integral to maintaining the financial health of our organisation and protecting our assets whilst supporting sustainable business growth.
Analyse credit applications and financial statements to assess borrower creditworthiness and repayment capacity
Evaluate credit risk factors, including industry trends, market conditions, and borrower financial performance
Prepare detailed credit reports and recommendations for approval or denial of credit facilities
Monitor existing credit accounts and identify early warning signs of potential defaults or deteriorating financial conditions
Conduct thorough due diligence on borrowers, including background checks, collateral valuation, and verification of financial information
Maintain accurate credit documentation and ensure compliance with lending policies and regulatory requirements
Liaise with internal departments, borrowers, and external stakeholders to gather necessary information and clarify credit matters
Support the development and implementation of credit policies, procedures, and risk mitigation strategies
Keep abreast of changes in credit market conditions, lending practices, and regulatory updates
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field
2–5 years of professional experience in credit analysis, loan underwriting, or credit risk assessment within a financial institution or corporate credit environment
Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to interpret financial statements, ratios, and credit metrics accurately
Proficiency in financial modelling, cash flow analysis, and credit rating methodologies
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work with complex data and documentation
Sound knowledge of banking regulations, credit policies, and risk management practices
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present findings clearly to stakeholders
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with credit analysis software or banking systems
Integrity and strong ethical standards, with the ability to handle sensitive financial information confidentially
