About the Role
Elyong’s Ihaw-Ihaw and Restaurant is looking for an experienced and dependable Line Cook to join our kitchen team in North Fairview, Quezon City.
The Line Cook is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items according to Elyong’s standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating standards. The position requires someone who can work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining consistency, cleanliness, food safety, and proper kitchen organization.
The Line Cook will work under the supervision of the Kitchen Supervisor and coordinate closely with the rest of the kitchen team to ensure orders are prepared accurately and served on time.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook assigned menu items according to standardized recipes, portion sizes, and plating guidelines.
- Complete required mise en place before service, including chopping, portioning, marinating, seasoning, preparing sauces, and organizing ingredients.
- Operate assigned kitchen stations efficiently during lunch, dinner, and peak service periods.
- Follow order tickets and instructions from the Kitchen Supervisor or assigned kitchen lead.
- Coordinate with other stations to ensure complete orders are prepared and released on time.
- Maintain consistent taste, portion size, appearance, temperature, and presentation of dishes.
- Check the quality and freshness of ingredients before use.
- Follow proper FIFO/FEFO, food storage, labeling, dating, and temperature-control procedures.
- Monitor ingredients and supplies at the assigned station and immediately report shortages or low stocks.
- Minimize food waste, overproduction, spoilage, and unnecessary ingredient usage.
- Properly record or report wastage and damaged ingredients according to kitchen procedures.Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned workstation throughout the shift.
- Properly clean and maintain kitchen utensils, tools, equipment, and work areas.
- Follow food-safety, personal-hygiene, sanitation, and workplace-safety standards.
- Assist in receiving and properly storing kitchen ingredients when assigned.
- Support food preparation for KTV orders, group reservations, functions, events, and special promotions.
- Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures.
- Participate in kitchen training, recipe standardization, food tastings, and menu-product training.
- Immediately report food-quality concerns, equipment problems, shortages, accidents, or other operational issues to the Kitchen Supervisor.
- Perform other reasonable kitchen duties assigned by the Kitchen Supervisor or Restaurant Manager.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as a Line Cook, Cook, Commis, Kitchen Crew, or similar kitchen position in a restaurant, hotel, catering operation, or food-service establishment.
- Preferably at least 1–2 years of professional kitchen experience.
- Experience in Filipino cuisine, ihaw/grill dishes, casual dining, or high-volume restaurant operations is an advantage.
- Knowledge of basic food preparation and cooking techniques.
- Able to follow standardized recipes and portion controls accurately.
- Familiar with proper food handling, sanitation, storage, and kitchen hygiene.
- Able to work efficiently and remain organized during busy service periods.
- Good sense of timing and ability to handle multiple orders simultaneously.
- Willing to learn different kitchen stations.
- Dependable, punctual, disciplined, and able to follow instructions.
- Able to work effectively as part of a kitchen team.
- Physically capable of standing for extended periods and performing normal kitchen duties.
- Willing to work shifting schedules, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Willing to work on-site in North Fairview, Quezon City.
Preferred Experience
Applicants with previous experience in any of the following are particularly encouraged to apply:

- Ihaw or grill stations
- Casual dining restaurants
- High-volume kitchens
- Hotels or resorts
- Catering and banquet kitchens
- Quick-service restaurants with structured kitchen systems
Formal culinary-school training is an advantage but not required if the applicant has strong practical kitchen experience.
