Job description

1. Job Summary

Progressive Technology is seeking a detail-oriented, analytical, and responsible Content Moderation Analyst – Platform Policy Review to support the safety, integrity, and quality of digital platforms. The successful candidate will review user-generated content, assess potential policy violations, and ensure that content is evaluated consistently according to established community guidelines, platform policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.

In this role, you will help maintain a positive and trustworthy digital environment by identifying content that may be harmful, misleading, abusive, inappropriate, or otherwise inconsistent with platform standards. You will assess text, images, videos, comments, user profiles, and other forms of digital material, applying sound judgment and following documented review procedures.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, good written communication abilities, and the confidence to make fair, evidence-based decisions. You should be comfortable working with structured guidelines, managing review queues, documenting decisions, and escalating complex cases to the appropriate teams.

As part of the content operations team, you will collaborate with policy specialists, quality assurance reviewers, and trust and safety professionals to improve moderation accuracy, identify recurring policy issues, and contribute to continuous improvements in platform governance.

2. Key Responsibilities
  • Review User-Generated Content: Examine posts, comments, images, videos, messages, profiles, and other platform submissions to determine whether they comply with established content policies and community standards.
  • Apply Platform Policies: Interpret and apply moderation guidelines consistently, using approved decision-making frameworks to classify content as compliant, potentially violating, or requiring further investigation.
  • Identify Policy Violations: Recognize content involving harassment, bullying, hate speech, threats, spam, scams, misinformation where covered by platform policy, explicit material, or other prohibited activities.
  • Make Evidence-Based Decisions: Evaluate the available context, content characteristics, user activity, and relevant policy provisions before recommending or taking an authorized moderation action.
  • Document Moderation Outcomes: Maintain accurate records of reviewed content, policy classifications, decisions, escalation reasons, and supporting evidence in the designated moderation systems.
  • Escalate Complex Cases: Refer ambiguous, high-risk, sensitive, or potentially severe policy violations to senior reviewers, policy teams, legal specialists, or designated safety teams when required.
  • Maintain Review Productivity: Manage assigned moderation queues efficiently while meeting established productivity, turnaround-time, and quality expectations.
  • Support Quality Assurance: Participate in review audits, calibration exercises, feedback sessions, and performance evaluations to improve consistency and reduce incorrect moderation decisions.
  • Identify Emerging Trends: Recognize recurring violations, new forms of abusive behavior, coordinated spam activity, and potential gaps in existing moderation procedures.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with content operations, trust and safety, customer support, and policy development teams to resolve complex cases and improve operational processes.
  • Protect User Privacy: Handle user information and potentially sensitive content responsibly, following confidentiality requirements, access controls, and data protection procedures.
  • Contribute to Policy Improvements: Share constructive feedback on unclear guidelines, recurring moderation challenges, and opportunities to make review processes more accurate and efficient.
  • Follow Operational Procedures: Comply with internal security standards, escalation protocols, workplace policies, and any applicable legal or regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain Professional Standards: Demonstrate impartiality, discretion, accountability, and respect for users when reviewing content and making moderation recommendations.
3. Required Skills and Qualifications
