Job summary

IBC International Builders Corporation seeks a skilled Construction Plant Mechanic to perform daily inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair of construction plant machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations on our projects.

You will diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues, keep accurate maintenance records, and coordinate with site supervisors and operators to schedule repairs with minimal downtime, while upholding ISO-aligned safety and quality

Qualifications

• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals and technical drawings.

About the role

The Construction Plant Mechanic is responsible for the daily inspection, maintenance, and repair of construction plant machinery to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This includes performing routine and preventive maintenance, diagnosing mechanical issues, conducting troubleshooting, and coordinating with supervisors and operators to schedule repairs with minimal downtime. The role involves maintaining accurate maintenance records, following safety and quality procedures aligned with ISO standards, and supporting project teams by keeping equipment in optimal working condition.

Key responsibilities

• Perform daily inspection, maintenance, and repair of construction plant machinery




• Conduct routine and preventive maintenance to reduce equipment failures and extend asset life




• Diagnose mechanical issues and conduct troubleshooting for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical problems




• Coordinate with supervisors and operators to schedule repairs with minimal downtime




• Maintain accurate maintenance records and follow safety and quality procedures aligned with ISO standards




• Support project teams by keeping equipment in optimal working condition




• Assist in equipment installation, testing, and performance checks as needed




• Collaborate with other technical staff

• Strong maintenance skills, including general Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair of plant machinery and equipment




• Proficiency in Preventive Maintenance practices to reduce equipment failures and extend asset life




• Hands-on experience working with different Construction Plant machinery and equipments




• Solid Troubleshooting abilities for mechanical, hydraulic, and basic electrical issues




• Relevant technical vocational course or diploma in Mechanical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field; licensure or certification as a mechanic is an advantage




• Experience in construction, engineering, or industrial plant environments, preferably with ISO-certified or large-scale contractors




• Knowledge of safety standards and regulations, with a strong commitment to safe work practices and use of PPE




• Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, technical drawings, and maintenance schedules; basic computer literacy for logging maintenance activities




• Effective communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to coordinate with supervisors, operators, and other mechanics
