Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly IBP forecast for the overall P&L and consolidate the annual budget.
• Partner with GM, Sales, Marketing and Commercial teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decisions.
• Evaluate commercial plans including pricing, discounts, and promotions and assess ROI.
• Develop profitability analyses at customer, channel and product levels to improve decisions.
• Prepare monthly performance reports and executive-level presentations highlighting key drivers.
• Create financial models and scenario analyses to support leadership decisions.
• Represent Finance in planning meetings and reviews and drive cost and investment management.

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Finance Manager to serve as a strategic business partner to the Commercial organization of a company in the food industry.

This role is responsible for driving profitable growth through financial planning, forecasting, commercial analysis, and data-driven decision-making. The successful candidate will work closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams to evaluate business performance, optimize commercial investments, improve profitability, and translate financial data into actionable business strategies.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly Integrated Business Planning (IBP) forecast for the overall Profit and Loss (P&L) and consolidate the annual budget, ensuring alignment with business targets and profitability objectives.
• Partner with the General Manager, Sales, Marketing, and Commercial teams to provide financial insights, challenge business assumptions, and support strategic decision-making.
• Evaluate commercial business plans, including sales volume, product mix, pricing, discounts, advertising, consumer and trade promotions, customer strategies, and new product development initiatives.
• Manage the financial planning and monitoring of discounts and advertising and consumer and trade (AC&T) investments, including return on investment (ROI) analysis and spending optimization.
• Develop and maintain customer-, channel-, and product-level profitability analysis to improve commercial decision-making and resource allocation.
• Establish and maintain appropriate allocation methodologies for commercial expenses to ensure accurate product profitability and margin visibility.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain Finance to assess cost forecasts, inflation, productivity initiatives, manufacturing cost absorption, and operational risks and opportunities.
• Prepare monthly business performance reports and executive-level presentations highlighting key financial drivers, risks, opportunities, and recommended actions.
• Develop financial models, scenario analyses, and business recommendations to support leadership decisions.
• Represent Finance in business planning meetings, demand reviews, integrated reconciliation sessions, and commercial performance reviews.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial performance, strengthen cost and investment management, and support sustainable business growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accountancy, Business Administration, or a related field.
• At least 8 years of relevant experience in Finance, preferably in FMCG, food manufacturing, or consumer-oriented businesses.
• Strong commercial acumen and a solid understanding of pricing strategies, sales performance, customer profitability, and channel dynamics.
• Proven experience in financial planning and analysis (FP&A), budgeting, forecasting, and P&L management.
• Experience evaluating commercial investments, trade promotions, discounts, and return on investment.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and financial modeling skills.
• Strong presentation and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear business insights.
• Demonstrated stakeholder management and influencing skills, particularly when partnering with senior leaders and cross-functional teams.
• Ability to balance strategic business thinking with detailed financial analysis.
