• Proficiency in programming languages and industry-relevant tools.
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lectures, labs, and practical sessions aligned with curriculum.

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced College Instructor (CS/IT) to join our academic team at AMA Computer College Inc. in Zamboanga City. This is a full-time position based in Zamboanga Del Sur, where you will play a vital role in shaping the next generation of technology professionals. As a College Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in computer science and information technology disciplines, fostering student engagement, and contributing to the strategic educational objectives of the institution. This role is fundamental to our commitment to providing exceptional tertiary education and maintaining our reputation as a center of excellence in technology learning.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions and laboratory classes in computer science and information technology subjects aligned with the college curriculum
• Prepare comprehensive course materials, lesson plans and educational resources that support student learning outcomes and industry standards
• Assess student performance through examinations, assignments, projects and practical assessments, providing constructive feedback to support academic progress
• Maintain detailed records of student attendance, grades and academic performance in accordance with institutional policies and regulations
• Stay current with emerging technologies, industry trends and best practices in computer science and information technology education
• Supervise laboratory sessions, hands-on projects and practical exercises to ensure students develop technical competencies
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to students, guiding them in their studies and professional development
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve curriculum, share pedagogical best practices and contribute to departmental initiatives
• Participate in departmental meetings, professional development activities and college-wide events
• Maintain a professional and inclusive learning environment that promotes student success and adherence to institutional values

What we're looking for

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or a related discipline; Doctoral preferred
• Proven teaching experience at tertiary level, preferably in computer science or information technology subjects
• Strong knowledge and expertise in core CS/IT subjects such as programming, database management, web development, systems analysis, networking or software engineering
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages and practical experience with industry-relevant tools and technologies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly to diverse learners
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver engaging lectures and practical laboratory sessions
• Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of technological advancements
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple courses and student assessments effectively
• Passion for education and fostering student engagement and academic success
• Familiarity with learning management systems and educational technology tools is advantageous
