Qualifications

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related field.
• 2-3 years of professional IT/CS industry experience.
• Proficient in Java, Python, C++, C#, or JavaScript.
• Experience teaching at secondary or tertiary level is desirable.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of LMS and edtech platforms.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures, practical sessions, and laboratory work for undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Design and update curricula reflecting industry standards and emerging technologies.
• Create lesson plans, materials, and assessments for diverse learning styles.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and delivering engaging lectures, practical sessions, and laboratory work in Computer Science and Information Technology subjects to undergraduate and postgraduate students

• Designing and updating course curricula to reflect current industry standards, emerging technologies and best practices in IT and Computer Science

• Creating comprehensive lesson plans, educational materials, presentations, and assessments that cater to diverse learning styles

• Conducting practical training sessions, coding workshops, and hands-on laboratory exercises to reinforce theoretical knowledge

• Assessing student performance through examinations, projects, assignments and practical evaluations, providing constructive feedback for continuous improvement

• Maintaining accurate records of student attendance, grades, and academic progress, ensuring compliance with institutional policies

• Mentoring and supporting students in their academic development and career preparation within the technology sector

• Collaborating with fellow instructors and departmental staff to ensure consistency and quality across the Computer Science and IT programs

• Staying current with technological advancements through professional development, attending workshops, and pursuing relevant certifications

• Participating in departmental meetings, curriculum development initiatives, and institutional activities as required

What we're looking for

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field

• A minimum of 2-3 years of professional experience in the IT or Computer Science industry, demonstrating practical expertise

• Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, C++, C#, or JavaScript

• Solid understanding of core computer science concepts including data structures, algorithms, databases, operating systems, and software development principles

• Experience teaching at secondary or tertiary level is highly desirable

• Excellent communication and presentation skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly and accessibly

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team environment

• A passion for education and commitment to student success and development

• Knowledge of current IT industry trends, tools, and technologies

• Ability to utilize learning management systems and educational technology platforms effectively

• Valid professional certification in IT or Computer Science (such as CompTIA, Oracle, Microsoft, or equivalent) is advantageous
