Job summary

Gallagher is seeking a Claims Associate to join the national claims team. You’ll manage new claims in line with policy terms and departmental service standards, working with the Claims Technical Hubs across Australia to ensure a seamless and high-quality claims experience for clients, brokers, and insurers.

To succeed, you’ll bring a strong client service mindset, excellent organizational skills, and clear communication, with attention to detail and insurance qualifications as a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience in customer-focused roles, ideally within Insurance or Financial Services.
• Excellent organisational skills with ability to balance priorities.
• Clear and confident communication across multiple channels.
• High attention to detail.
• ANZIIF Foundation Certificate or relevant local insurance qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lodge new claims with insurers using complete and accurate information.
• Upload all claim related documentation into Gallagher’s document management systems.
• Maintain accurate system notes and diarise follow ups in line with the claims model.
• Provide timely updates to clients via phone and email.
• Respond to queries from clients, brokers, and insurers, escalating matters when required.
• Support clients, brokers, and account management staff with updates and general claims enquiries.
• Review circumstances and policy wordings to assist with basic claim assessments.
• Progress claims and advocate for outcomes that best support the client.
• Liaise with the Claims Technical Hubs on escalated or complex claims.
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members through the buddy system when required.
• Complete general administrative tasks and undertake other duties as directed by the supervising manager.
• Maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Claims Executives and insurers.
• Participate in internal and external training and development opportunities.

About The Role

We are seeking a Claims Associate to join our national claims team. You’ll play a pivotal part in managing new claims in accordance with policy terms and departmental service standards. You’ll work closely with our Claims Technical Hubs across Australia to ensure a seamless and high quality claims experience for our clients, brokers, and insurers.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide timely updates to clients via phone and email
• Respond to queries from clients, brokers, and insurers, escalating matters when required
• Support clients, brokers, and account management staff with updates and general claims enquiries
• Review circumstances and policy wordings to assist with basic claim assessments
• Progress claims and advocate for outcomes that best support the client
• Liaise with the Claims Technical Hubs on escalated or complex claims
• Follow up with underwriters to confirm claim finalisation and outstanding actions
• Assist with onboarding and training new team members through the buddy system when required
• Complete general administrative tasks and undertake other duties as directed by the supervising manager
• Maintain strong working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including Claims Executives and insurers
• Participate in internal and external training and development opportunities

About You

To succeed in this role, you will have:

• A strong client service mindset, with experience in customer focused roles, ideally within Insurance or Financial Services
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities
• Clear and confident communication across multiple channels, including phone and written correspondence
• High attention to detail
• Ideally, an ANZIIF Foundation Certificate (or have commenced it) or another relevant local insurance qualification
