Job summary

CHINT NEW ENERGY DEVELOPMENT PHILIPPINES INC. is seeking a Civil Project Engineer to oversee design review, site QA, scheduling, cost control, and health, safety & ESG compliance for EPC civil works in the Philippines.

The role involves supporting the Market Development team, coordinating with EPC contractors, and ensuring adherence to local codes and project standards. This position requires hands-on site supervision and rigorous QA/QC practices.

Responsibilities

• Review EPC contractor’s civil design drawings, specifications, and method statements.
• Ensure compliance with Philippine building codes, NGCP requirements, and project technical standards.
• Provide technical support to the Market Development team on land, foundation, piling, and civil cost estimations.
• Monitor EPC contractor’s civil works (earthworks, piling, foundations, structures, drainage, access roads, fencing, etc.).
• Conduct site inspections and verify compliance with approved drawings, QA/QC standards, and contractual obligations.
• Witness material tests (concrete, aggregates, piles) and validate contractor’s inspection reports.
• Track EPC civil works schedule vs. baseline plan.
• Identify risks and delays, recommend mitigation measures, and report weekly progress to the Project Manager.
• Support in reviewing contractor’s BOQ, variation orders, and progress billing related to civil scope.
• Monitor material usage and cost implications, ensuring alignment with project budget.
• Monitor EPC compliance with HSE standards, site safety protocols, and ESG requirements.
• Report unsafe acts/conditions, and support safety audits.
• Ensure proper environmental protection measures (erosion control, waste management, community engagement).
• Support Project Manager and Site Manager in daily coordination with EPC contractor.
• Provide technical inputs during due diligence by investors, lenders, and potential buyers.
• Coordinate with Market Development Team to provide technical assessments and feasibility study support.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

1. Design & Technical Review
