Job summary

VFL Builders is seeking an experienced Site Civil Engineer to lead civil construction activities on-site, ensuring safety, quality, and timely project delivery. You will collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to coordinate workflows and resolve technical issues.

The role requires 3–5 years in civil construction or similar, with strong drawing interpretation and reporting skills. On-site work with potential extended hours is expected to meet project objectives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• 3–5 years of relevant civil construction/site engineering experience.
• PRC Licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage but not required.
• Experience in site supervision, coordination, and project reporting.
• Ability to read and implement construction drawings, plans, and specs.
• Experience in site inspections and ensuring quality, safety, and progress.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and extended site hours.
• Prefer residing near the project site.

Responsibilities

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Site Civil Engineer to join our project team and oversee civil construction works and site activities. In this role, you will play a vital part in ensuring that civil works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved plans, drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules. As a Site Civil Engineer, you will work closely with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel to coordinate construction activities, monitor progress, resolve technical concerns, and support the successful completion of the project.

Qualifications

1. Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or any related field.
2. At least three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in civil construction, site engineering, or a similar role.
3. PRC Licensed Civil Engineer is an advantage but not required.
4. Proven experience in site supervision, civil construction activities, and project coordination.
5. Knowledgeable in reading, interpreting, and implementing construction drawings, plans, specifications, and other technical documents.
6. Experience in conducting site inspections and monitoring the quality, workmanship, and progress of civil works.
7. Ability to coordinate effectively with contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and other project personnel.
8. Capable of monitoring project progress, manpower deployment, material requirements, equipment, and other site resources.
9. Strong technical, communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
10. Ability to identify construction issues and provide appropriate technical solutions or recommendations.
11. Proficient in preparing daily site reports, progress reports, inspection records, and other project documentation.
12. Knowledge of construction safety, quality control procedures, and applicable standards and regulations.
13. Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple site activities and priorities.
14. Capable of working independently, making sound decisions, and performing effectively with minimal supervision.
15. Willing to work on-site and handle field-related responsibilities, including extended working hours when required by project activities.
16. High level of professionalism, responsibility, accountability, and commitment to project objectives.
17. Preferably residing within or near the project or site location.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in managing or supervising building, infrastructure, road, drainage, excavation, concrete, structural, or other civil construction works.
• Familiarity with construction methods, materials, quality control procedures, and site safety requirements.
• Experience in coordinating with government agencies, consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
• Knowledge of project scheduling, quantity monitoring, material take-offs, and progress billing is an advantage.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other engineering or construction-related software is an advantage.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing method statements, inspection requests, punch lists, and other construction documents.
• Knowledge of applicable Philippine construction standards, codes, and regulations.
