• Develop and execute a category plan to grow sales, margins and profitability.
• Conduct market, customer and competitor analysis to guide range and promotions.
• Negotiate with suppliers and manage trade promotions and activities.
• Support basic store merchandising and identify growth drivers.
• Drive supplier collaboration to increase market share and margin growth.
• Review market dynamics quarterly and implement category-building programs.

Job description

The Category Manager is responsible for developing and executing a category plan to bring growth in sales, margins and profitability through;

• Market, customer and competitor analysis
• Product range development
• Supplier negotiations
• Trade promotions and activities
• Basic store merchandising
• Potential business growth drivers (internal and external) identification.

Role focuses on:

• Supplier management through collaborative category promotions and plans that will result in increased market share and positive sales and margin growth, and 100% completion of TTAs according to agreed timelines.
• Business development through quarterly review and analysis of the market dynamics, development and implementation of category-building programs resulting in positive sales and margins and increased market share according to agreed metrics and periodic assessment of competitors activities, pricing, and promo initiatives.
