Qualifications

• Proficient with POS systems and cash handling procedures.

About the role

We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Cashier to join the team at Ace Hardware Phils., Inc in SM Clark Branch. This is a full-time position that plays a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience at the point of sale. As a Cashier, you will be the final touchpoint in the customer journey, ensuring transactions are processed accurately and efficiently whilst maintaining a welcoming and professional atmosphere. This position is essential to our retail operations and directly contributes to customer satisfaction and store performance.

Key responsibilities

• Operating the cash register and processing customer payments accurately using various payment methods, including cash, credit cards and digital wallets

• Scanning merchandise, verifying prices and ensuring all items are correctly recorded before payment

• Providing friendly and efficient customer service, answering questions about products and store policies

• Bagging purchases in a professional manner and offering assistance to customers as needed

• Maintaining a clean and organized checkout area, including the counter, scales and payment terminals

• Reconciling cash drawers at the end of shifts and reporting any discrepancies to management

• Processing returns and exchanges in accordance with store procedures

• Assisting with stock replenishment and shelf organization when not attending to checkout duties

• Adhering to all company policies, procedures and health and safety standards

• Supporting the wider team to ensure a smooth and efficient store operation

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a Cashier or in a customer-facing retail role is preferred but not essential

• Proficiency in operating a point-of-sale (POS) system and cash handling procedures

• Strong numeracy skills with the ability to handle cash transactions accurately

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a genuine passion for delivering outstanding customer service

• The ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak trading periods

• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all transactions

• A reliable and punctual work ethic with flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends if required

• Honesty, integrity and a commitment to upholding company values and policies

• Proficiency in English and/or Filipino is essential for effective communication with customers and colleagues
