Job Overview
The Business Group Manager will lead assigned business units, focusing on B2B sales of raw materials, functional ingredients, and industrial inputs. The role is responsible for driving revenue growth, managing key customer and supplier relationships, leading teams, and ensuring the profitability and efficient operation of the assigned business units.
Key Responsibilities
Business & Principal Management
- Develop and implement business plans, sales strategies, and growth targets.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and emerging business opportunities.
- Manage the profitability and overall performance of assigned business units.
- Oversee relationships with principals and suppliers and ensure business targets are achieved.
- Manage budgets and support overall business planning.
- Manage B2B customer relationships, particularly within the processed meat and industrial sectors.
- Oversee pricing, contract negotiations, and customer retention strategies.
- Develop new business opportunities and maintain a strong sales pipeline.
- Work closely with technical teams to develop client-specific solutions.
- Manage a portfolio of raw materials, functional ingredients, and non-food industrial supplies.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability, quality, and competitive pricing.
- Monitor product innovations, market developments, and relevant regulatory changes.
Team & Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and manage sales, product, and support teams across assigned business units.
- Set team KPIs, monitor performance, and provide coaching and development.
- Collaborate with Procurement, Logistics, Finance, Quality Assurance, and other internal teams.
- Monitor inventory, sales forecasts, and delivery timelines.
- Analyze financial performance to improve margins and control costs.
- Monitor working capital and ensure operational efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with applicable food safety and industry standards.
Additional Responsibilities
- Represent the company in industry events, trade shows, and customer meetings.
- Handle special projects and other related duties assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Food Technology, Chemistry, or a related field; MBA is an advantage.
- 5–10 years of relevant experience in B2B sales, business development, or business unit management.
- Experience in food manufacturing, food ingredients, raw materials, or industrial supply sectors.
- Strong technical understanding of food and non-food raw materials, particularly those used in processed meat applications.
- Proven experience in team leadership, business growth, and financial target management.
- Strong negotiation, strategic planning, customer relationship management, and leadership skills.
