About the role
The Business Development Manager will establish, develop, and lead the company's Sales Department in Manila. This hands-on leadership role combines business development, client acquisition, sales management, team building, and commercial discipline. The successful candidate will personally develop new business and strategic accounts while building the structure, processes, and team needed to expand the company's presence in Metro Manila and the wider Luzon market. The role is accountable for profitable revenue and volume growth, pipeline quality, team performance, forecasting, client retention, and disciplined sales execution.
Key responsibilities
- Establish and organize the Manila Sales Department, including its structure, workflow, reporting system, and operating procedures
- Recommend sales manpower requirements and participate in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, and development of Sales Executives
- Identify and develop new business opportunities throughout Metro Manila and surrounding markets
- Generate prospects through field visits, referrals, networking, cold calling, digital leads, industry contacts, and other business-development channels
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, needs assessments, and commercial discussions
- Lead, coach, motivate, and supervise the Manila sales team
- Set, monitor, and deliver monthly and annual revenue, volume, gross-profit, and contribution-margin targets
- Maintain an organized pipeline covering leads, qualified opportunities, quotations, follow-ups, and account activation
- Personally manage selected strategic and high-value accounts
- Work with management and operations to prepare competitive, operationally feasible, and commercially viable proposals
About you
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field; equivalent relevant industry experience may be considered
- At least five years of B2B sales or business-development experience is preferred
- At least two to three years of sales leadership or supervisory experience is preferred
- Demonstrated success in developing new accounts, achieving targets, and managing a sales pipeline
- Experience building or expanding a sales team is highly desirable
- Experience in logistics, freight forwarding, importation, supply chain, trading, sourcing, warehousing, fulfillment, or another B2B service industry is strongly preferred
