Job summary

Hammerjack Pty Ltd is seeking a Merchant Onboarding & Acquisition Lead in the Philippines to drive merchant growth and seamless onboarding. You will own the onboarding journey, engaging with merchants from kickoff to go-live, and coordinate with internal teams to resolve operational issues.

The role requires 2–4 years in fintech/payments, strong leadership, and excellent communication. You will collaborate across departments to optimize onboarding and merchant satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in merchant acquisition, partnerships, or business development in fintech, banking, or payments.
• Familiarity with QRPH, POS systems, online payment gateways, or digital wallets.
• Experience with SMEs, enterprise clients, and digital platforms.
• Demonstrated leadership mindset and initiative.

Responsibilities

• Identify, engage, and acquire new merchants aligned with growth strategy.
• Lead end-to-end onboarding for new merchants, including kickoff calls and system integration.
• Build and maintain long-term merchant relationships with proactive support.

Key Responsibilities

• Merchant Acquisition: Identify, engage, and acquire new merchants aligned with the company's growth strategy.
• End-to-End Onboarding: Lead the complete onboarding process for new merchants, including kickoff calls, training sessions, system integration, and resolving any operational or technical issues that may arise during onboarding.
• Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with merchants by ensuring timely support and a seamless experience before, during, and after onboarding.
• Project Management: Own the onboarding journey by managing timelines, coordinating cross-functional teams, and proactively providing updates to both internal and external stakeholders.
• Consultative Support: Understand merchant needs and business objectives to deliver a tailored onboarding experience, while proactively addressing potential challenges or roadblocks.
• Collaboration: Work closely with support teams to streamline onboarding processes and ensure merchants are set up for success.
• Feedback & Optimization: Gather and relay merchant feedback to internal teams to suggest process improvements and product or feature enhancements that drive merchant satisfaction and retention.
• Additional Responsibilities: Perform other related tasks and special projects that support the business development function, as assigned from time to time.

• Demonstrated leadership mindset — you take initiative, make decisions, and drive outcomes without waiting for direction.
• Solid understanding of KYC/AML requirements and BSP regulations.
• Exceptional communication, persuasion, and presentation skills.
• CRM-savvy, and highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and fast-paced environments.
