About the role
Plant Accountant is responsible for the complete, accurate, and timely recording, monitoring, reconciliation, and reporting of all financial transactions of the assigned plant/branch. This role ensures compliance with accounting standards, Finance policies, and internal controls while providing reliable financial information to Operations and Management.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare and record accurate journal entries for plant/branch transactions and perform month-end closing activities within the prescribed deadline
- Prepare the assigned plant/branch Financial Statements and related schedules, reviewing financial data for accuracy, completeness, and consistency before submission
- Reconcile assigned balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate records of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, prepaid expenses, and other applicable accounts
- Maintain and update the PPE schedule of the assigned plant/branch, monitoring asset acquisitions, transfers, depreciation, and disposals
- Review Daily Sales Reports submitted by Cashiers and branch personnel, validating sales records against receipts, collections, deposits, and supporting documents
- Conduct daily checking and reconciliation of cash and collections reported by Cashiers, monitoring deposits and reporting discrepancies immediately
- Conduct or assist in daily checking of LPG, cylinders, accessories, and other plant/branch inventory, reconciling inventory records with operational reports
- Ensure that the assigned plant/branch follows Finance policies, accounting procedures, and internal controls, monitoring compliance with required documentation and approval processes
- Coordinate with Operations to ensure that operational transactions are properly recorded and reflected in financial reports
- Provide required reports, schedules, reconciliations, and supporting documents for internal and external audits
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Management Accounting, or related field
- Strong knowledge of accounting and reconciliation
- Good understanding of inventory and cost accounting
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proficient in MS Excel, accounting systems, and financial reporting
- High integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail
- Good communication and coordination skills
- Preferably with background in inventory, audit, plant accounting, branch accounting, or operations accounting
- CPA is an advantage but not required
- Knowledge of LPG, manufacturing, or FMCG industry is an advantage
