The Branch Accountant is one of the key financial officers of the branch responsible for ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of all financial records and transactions. The role is primarily tasked with maintaining the books of accounts, preparing financial reports, ensuring compliance with BIR regulations, and implementing strong internal controls. The Branch Accountant is responsible for continuous monitoring and verification of branch and retail store transactions to safeguard company assets, prevent losses, and ensure that all cash, sales, and inventories are properly recorded, accounted for, and protected against irregularities or misappropriation.
Maintain complete and updated Books of Accounts of the assigned branch
Record daily financial transactions including sales, purchases, expenses, cash receipts, and disbursements
Ensure proper classification of accounts based on the approved Chart of Accounts (COA)
Perform regular reconciliation of branch records with system-generated reports and Head Office records
Prepare and submit Income Statement, Cash Flow Statement, Balance Sheet, and Variance Analysis Report
Prepare Daily Cash Position Report, Daily Sales & Volume Summary Report, and Monthly Branch Performance Report
Conduct regular verification of cash collections, sales records, and system postings
Conduct spot audits and surprise cash counts to ensure accuracy and accountability
Ensure compliance with all BIR rules and regulations and prepare VAT and withholding tax filings
Enforce internal accounting policies and control procedures within the branch
Exercise due diligence, integrity, and strict accountability in all financial matters
