Job summary

Hyre in a fully remote setup seeks a Billing & Accounting Systems Specialist to own our billing platform and the related accounting operations. You will manage Chargebee end to end—subscriptions, invoicing, payment application, dunning, and credit memos—and ensure ongoing configuration improvements.

You will also own AR aging, month-end reconciliation, and payroll preparation, documenting every process to prevent single points of failure.

Qualifications

• Billing platform ownership: own and configure subscription systems end-to-end (not just usage).
• AR depth: invoicing, payments, aging, collections, and memos.
• Payroll: prepare payroll cycles with time-tracking/contractor data.
• Root-cause orientation: fix underlying causes, not repeat incidents.
• Data fluency: advanced spreadsheets and data reconciliation.
• Documentation: write clear SOPs for recurring processes.
• Written communication: excellent written English.
• Autonomy: work across time zones with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Own and administer the billing platform (Chargebee or equivalent).
• Generate and verify client invoices on schedule.
• Apply payments to customer accounts; reconcile and match payments.
• Maintain automated dunning and payment reminders.
• Diagnose and fix billing errors at the configuration level.
• Complete Chargebee migration and subscription cleanup.
• Own AR aging reporting and collections follow-ups.
• Prepare payroll runs from time-tracking data; reconcile with contracts.
• Maintain payroll calendar and supporting docs; ensure proper approvals.
• Produce recurring AR, revenue, and collections reports; close month-end.
• Write and maintain SOPs; propose automation for manual tasks.
• Flag control gaps and single points of failure.
