Job summary

ALSONS ENERGY DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION is seeking a BESS Engineer to support business development and early-stage execution of BESS and hybrid PV+BESS projects, providing technical, commercial, and feasibility inputs from concept through pre-construction.

You will conduct technical feasibility, develop system sizing, evaluate PV and BESS technologies, coordinate with OEMs/EPCs, prepare TORs and technical bids, and support investment decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Energy Engineering.
• Registered Engineer preferred.
• 3–5 years’ experience in energy storage or power projects.
• Knowledge of BESS technologies and grid codes.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct technical feasibility studies and due diligence for PV + BESS and Stand-Alone BESS projects.
• Develop preliminary system sizing, layouts, operating philosophy, and single-line diagrams.
• Evaluate PV and BESS technologies, suppliers, warranties, degradation profiles, and performance guarantees.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPCs, and consultants for technical inputs and cost assumptions.
• Prepare and review Terms of Reference (TOR), RFPs, and technical bid evaluations.
• Provide technical inputs to financial models, including CAPEX, OPEX, efficiency, losses, and lifecycle assumptions.
• Assess grid interconnection requirements, grid code compliance, and dispatch considerations.
• Support technical-commercial discussions and negotiations with partners, suppliers, and off takers.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and investment memoranda for management and stakeholders.

MAJOR PROCESSES:

3. Grid interconnection and system performance assessment
