Job summary

Smartdeer Services Centre in the Philippines is seeking a Barista to deliver quality coffee and warm, sincere service to every customer. You will work with the store team to meet daily objectives, open/close shifts, prepare beverages, handle cashier duties, and promote products and memberships.

The role requires basic daily English, fluent Mandarin preferred for customer and team communication, and at least one year of barista or F&B experience.

Qualifications

Job description

This role involves making quality coffee with genuine, warm and sincere service to delight customers. You will report to the store manager and work within operational standards to complete assigned shift tasks and business objectives.

Key responsibilities

Focus on making quality coffee and providing warm, genuine service to customers

Assist in mentoring trainee baristas to accelerate their coffee operation skills and knowledge development

Strictly follow operational standards and complete shift tasks and business objectives, including store opening and closing, daily coffee and beverage preparation, customer service, product and membership recommendations, cashier duties and related services

Proactively maintain cleanliness and organisation of the store premises including front area, back area, bar counter and storage areas

Assist the store manager with other store operational matters

About you

Basic daily English conversational ability to independently complete orders, product introductions, respond to basic customer inquiries and handle simple complaints

Fluent Mandarin Chinese preferred to facilitate communication with Chinese customers and team members

Basic Malay language is a bonus

Passionate about coffee and the service industry, able to independently operate coffee machines and create latte art

Polite and well-mannered with neat and tidy appearance

Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills with strong teamwork spirit

Minimum one year of experience in coffee, tea beverage or food and beverage work
