Job Summary
The Baker is responsible for preparing, mixing, baking, and decorating a variety of baked products such as breads, cakes, pastries, cookies, and other bakery items. The role ensures that products are consistently made according to company recipes and quality standards while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and measure ingredients according to standardized recipes.
- Mix, knead, proof, shape, and bake a variety of bakery products.
- Decorate cakes, pastries, and other baked goods as required.
- Monitor oven temperatures and baking times to ensure product quality.
- Inspect finished products for appearance, taste, and consistency.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of workstations, utensils, and baking equipment.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Monitor inventory of baking ingredients and report shortages.
- Properly store raw materials and finished products to maintain freshness.
- Assist with receiving and organizing bakery supplies.
- Package and label bakery products when necessary.
- Work collaboratively with the bakery team to meet daily production targets.
- Perform other duties assigned by the Bakery Supervisor or Manager.
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent; vocational or culinary training is an advantage.
- Previous experience as a Baker or in a bakery production environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and bakery equipment.
- Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards.
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain product consistency.
