Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end estimating and tendering process for remedial building projects.
- Needs to be on track with all tender deadlines and proactively follow up with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Review tender documentation, interpret project scopes, and identify technical and commercial
- requirements.
- Ensure all estimating documents are properly filed and saved in the appropriate company systems and project folders, including Wunderbuild, and are easily accessible for future reference.
- Conduct detailed quantity take-offs and prepare accurate cost estimates and cost plans.
- Source, evaluate, and coordinate suppliers and subcontractors for project pricing and procurement.
- Liaise with clients, engineers, supervisors, site teams, and internal stakeholders to clarify project requirements.
- Conduct market research to assess current material, labour, and subcontractor pricing.
- Identify project risks, assess potential cost impacts, and incorporate appropriate allowances and contingencies.
- Prepare and submit competitive and commercially sound tender submissions.
- Manage multiple concurrent tenders while effectively prioritising workloads and deadlines.
- Coordinate tender priorities and requirements with supervisors and internal teams.
- Independently research, investigate, and resolve technical, contractual, and commercial issues throughout the tendering process.
- Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive database of suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring accurate contact details, trade capabilities, service areas, and pricing information.
- Perform other reasonable duties and tasks related to estimating, tendering and pre‑construction activities as directed by company management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Estimator with 2 to 3 years of experience.
- Experience in Project Management , Emails and Quotations
- Preferably with previous experience in Construction industry
- Good use of basic Microsoft Office programs
- Excellent communication skills a must - internal and external stakeholders
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to deliver without supervision
- Ability to adapt to new tools and software and fast-paced environment
- Someone who is willing to learn and be trained
- Someone who can work with minimum supervision
- A proven ability in reading and interpreting architectural working drawings (floor plans)
- Experience in the building or directly translatable industry would be preferable
- Strong attention to detail - paying attention to the little things may have the biggest impact
- A positive, proactive attitude where giving it your all is the only option
- Excellent team player and willing to go above and beyond.
