Job summary

Vena Energy in the Philippines is seeking an HSSE Associate responsible for ensuring the safety of workers and visitors at construction sites. The ideal candidate must develop HSSE plans, conduct site inspections, and investigate any incidents. Candidates should have strong knowledge of national and local HSSE regulations, effective communication skills, and a minimum of 5 years of experience for junior-level positions or 10 years for senior positions. A college degree is required, and a valid driver's license is essential.

Qualifications

  • Min. DOLE SO3 qualification required.
  • At least 5 years experience for junior level but 10 for senior level is preferred.
  • PCO accreditation and DOLE First Aider certification preferred but not mandatory.

**Job Summary:**The HSSE Associate is responsible for ensuring the safety of workers and visitors at the construction sites. He/she shall implement the company’s HSSE Management System, develop and implement construction site specific HSSE plans, conduct site inspections, and provide training on HSSE procedures as well as be able to investigate incidents/accidents that occur at construction sites.The HSSE Associate shall have a strong knowledge of HSSE national and local regulations and standards. He/she must be able to identify potential hazards and develop plans to mitigate those hazards and be able to effectively communicate with workers, supervisors, and other professionals on-site.**Key Responsibilities:*** Regular daily inspection of project sites, to ensure a hazard-free environment and compliance with HSSE national and local regulations and standards;* Assessment and acceptance of contractors/subcontractors’ safety plans, method statements, and/or job hazard analyses;* Verification of tools and equipment to ensure good quality;* Promote safe practices on site;* Create and implement safety guidelines and programs as needed;* Carry-out drills and exercises on managing emergency situations;* Conduct investigations on near misses, incidents or accidents;* Ensure all HSSE relevant reports are submitted to related government agencies (DOLE, DOE, DENR, etc.);* Record and report company mandated HSSE metrics (e.g., incidents and accidents including injuries/damages, near misses, unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, safe acts; environmental emissions, generated wastes, electricity and water usage, security incidents, etc.);* Relay to management and respond (once approved) to workers’ HSSE concerns;* Assist in the HSSE communications with relevant government agencies;* Assist in government agency-mandated evaluations or inspection of the site (if needed);* Coordinates all issues regarding pollutive emissions, hazardous materials or wastes generated or released;* Assist with the preparation and evaluation of construction site HSSE plan(s);* Attend project planning meetings and collaborating with construction and project managers;* Establish and maintain HSSE communication structures;* Test effectiveness of site emergency response plans;**Prerequisites:*** Min. DOLE SO3 qualified (accredited preferred)* College graduate* At least 5 yrs experience for junior level SO, at least 10 years experience for senior level SO.
