About the role

Magma Restaurant is seeking an Assistant Restaurant Manager to join our dynamic hospitality team in Daraga, Albay. This is a full-time position offering an exciting opportunity to support the smooth and efficient operation of our restaurant whilst gaining valuable management experience. As Assistant Restaurant Manager, you will work alongside our management team to ensure exceptional service standards, maintain operational excellence, and create memorable dining experiences for our guests. This role is pivotal in bridging communication between front-of-house and back-of-house operations, ensuring that every aspect of the restaurant runs seamlessly.

What you'll be doing

• Supervising and coordinating front-of-house staff, including hosts, servers and bartenders, to ensure consistently high service standards
• Managing reservation systems, table allocations and guest seating to optimise dining flow and customer satisfaction
• Assisting with staff scheduling, training and development to maintain a professional and knowledgeable team
• Monitoring food and beverage quality, presentation and portion control in accordance with restaurant standards
• Handling guest complaints and resolving issues promptly and professionally to maintain customer satisfaction
• Performing regular health and safety checks and ensuring compliance with food hygiene regulations
• Assisting with inventory management, stock control and ordering of supplies as required
• Supporting the Restaurant Manager with administrative duties, including reporting, documentation and record-keeping
• Contributing to the implementation of new restaurant procedures, promotions and special events
• Maintaining a clean, organised and welcoming restaurant environment at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in a restaurant or hospitality supervisory role, ideally in a full-service dining establishment
• Strong knowledge of restaurant operations, including service protocols, food safety standards and customer service best practices
• Excellent leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities, with a professional and courteous demeanour
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure
• Attention to detail and organisational capabilities to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Proficiency in restaurant management systems and point-of-sale (POS) software
• Knowledge of food and beverage offerings, wines and cocktails is advantageous
• Flexibility to work shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays as required in the hospitality industry
