Job summary

Evonik Catalysts India Pvt. Ltd. in Dombivli seeks an Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Projects to lead cross-disciplinary project work across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, and construction disciplines.

You will prepare PRN for service reports, PTW issuance and closing, develop P&IDs, BOMs, Gantt charts, and project cost estimates while ensuring alignment with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical).
• 7–8 years of experience in the chemical industry project work.
• Experience on projects for chemical companies is required.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, construction and project execution.
• Prepare P&ID, BOM, Activities Gantt Chart & cost estimates.
• Coordinate with internal customers and contracting team to meet timelines.
• Prepare EPIC/PR/GRN for procurement via ERP and ensure compliance with safety guidelines.
• Maintain project documentation and budget vs. actual reporting monthly.
• Lead safety adherence per ECI guidelines during project activities.

Job Title : Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Projects

Reporting to : Manager - Projects

Work Location : Dombivli

Purpose of the Position :

To prepare PRN for Service Reports, Job measurements, PTW issuing & closing, project execution. Keep project documentation update.

Key Responsibilities:

• The position is responsible for all project activities of mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, civil, construction and execution.
• To prepare the project w.r.t user requirement & accordingly prepare the P& ID, material’s Bill of Quantity, Activities Gantt Chart & Estimation cost of project.
• To prepare or check the specifications & keep technical records separately for each project.
• To co-ordinate with internal customers as well as contracting team by coordination with engineering/production department & to ensure all planned activities should be complete within allocated timeline.
• To guides and supervises the engineering contractor during engineering phases and supports for understanding of ESHQ guidelines during PTW [Permit To Work] process.
• To prepare EPIC [Enhanced Project and Investment controlling] /PR [Purchase Requisition] /GRN [Goods Received Note] for all project procurement through ERP system.
• To ensure statutory compliance before start of Project Execution & also keep, maintain all project documentation up to date in the system.
• To prepare Monthly cost Reports in coordination with Finance team which shall also include the Project status, action plan on delayed items & Budget vs Actual comparison sheet & provides quality-related documents and supports the qualification phases (DQ, IQ, OQ, PQ) of an investment project.
• To prepare & monitor the budget vs actual sheet of all projects on monthly basis to track.
• To upgrade the safety standards of ECI, follow & execute project activities as per ECI Safety guideline

Education, Certification, and Relevant Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical).
• Minimum 7 to 8 years of experience in the chemical industry.
• Must have prior experience working on projects for chemical companies.

Technical Knowledge

• Proficient in Project Management, SAP, and design tools such as AutoCAD or Pro Catia.
• Familiarity with 5S methodology and the ability to apply Cause & Effect tools for problem-solving.
• Basic knowledge of environmental protection units and understanding of legal requirements applicable to the site.
