Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or diploma with relevant experience.
• Experience in ferro alloys or heavy-industry environments is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage Electrical & Automation shift operations to ensure safe plant operation.
• Attend and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation, and automation breakdowns to minimize downtime.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance of HT/LT motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC/PCC, VFDs and instrumentation.
• Provide electrical & automation support to Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) and related systems for stable production.
• Monitor and maintain critical auxiliary systems such as ID fans, dedusting, WHRB, pumps and compressors.
• Coordinate shift manpower and maintenance activities with Production and Mechanical departments.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, LOTO/PTW, and safe working practices.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement RCA, reliability improvements and energy-saving initiatives.

Position description

Responsible for managing Electrical & Automation shift operations in the Ferro Alloys Complex, ensuring safe, reliable and uninterrupted power and automation systems for High Carbon Ferro Chrome production. The role includes shift management, breakdown troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, manpower coordination, equipment monitoring and timely restoration of critical electrical and automation equipment. Responsible for supporting Submerged Arc Furnace, HT/LT systems, motors, transformers, VFDs, PLC/DCS/SCADA, instrumentation, dedusting, WHRB and utility systems. Also responsible for safety compliance, maintenance reporting, RCA of recurring failures and implementation of reliability and energy-saving initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage Electrical & Automation shift operations to ensure safe and uninterrupted plant operation.
• Attend and troubleshoot electrical, instrumentation and automation breakdowns and ensure minimum equipment downtime.
• Execute preventive and predictive maintenance of HT/LT motors, transformers, switchgear, MCC/PCC, VFDs, PLC/DCS/SCADA and instrumentation systems.
• Provide electrical & automation support to Submerged Arc Furnace (SAF) and associated systems for stable High Carbon Ferro Chrome production.
• Monitor and maintain critical auxiliary systems such as ID fans, dedusting system, WHRB, pumps, compressors and utility equipment.
• Coordinate shift manpower and maintenance activities with Production, Mechanical and other departments for smooth plant operation.
• Ensure compliance with electrical safety procedures, LOTO/PTW, statutory requirements and safe working practices.
• Analyze recurring breakdowns and implement improvement actions, including RCA, reliability improvement, energy saving and automation initiatives.
