Job summary

Shakey's Philippines (Shakey's Pizza Asia Ventures, Inc.) is seeking an Assistant Accounting Manager to support the Finance and Accounting team in accurate financial reporting, effective accounting operations, and strong controls across the restaurant business.

The role works with Finance, Operations, Procurement, and other business teams to ensure timely recording of transactions, monitoring of costs, and compliance with policies, with responsibilities spanning GL, AP/AR, month-end closing, and

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in restaurant/food & beverage or multi-unit operations.
• Experience in general accounting, financial reporting, reconciliations, and month-end closing.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Experience with inventory and cost accounting is an advantage.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Experience supervising or mentoring accounting staff is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in managing day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and bank reconciliations.
• Support the preparation and review of monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Monitor restaurant sales, expenses, inventory, and other financial transactions to ensure accuracy and completeness.
• Assist in food and beverage cost analysis, inventory reconciliation, and variance analysis.
• Review accounting entries and supporting documents to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
• Support month-end and year-end closing activities and ensure timely completion of required schedules and reports.
• Coordinate with restaurant operations and other departments regarding financial and accounting concerns.
• Assist in maintaining effective internal controls and identify opportunities to improve accounting processes.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing required schedules and documentation.
• Assist in tax compliance and other statutory reporting requirements.
• Provide guidance and support to accounting staff as needed.
• Perform other finance and accounting-related responsibilities as assigned.
