Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or equivalent.
• 2–5 years in quantity surveying, cost estimating or related construction role.
• Experience preparing bills of quantities, cost estimates and tender documents for architectural/building projects.
• Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and specs.
• Proficiency with Excel; familiarity with quantity surveying software is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed quantity takeoffs and BOQ for architectural construction projects from design drawings and specs.
• Develop accurate cost estimates and tender documentation for architectural works including finishes, facades, interior design elements and structural features.
• Analyse and evaluate construction costs, labour rates, material pricing and market trends to ensure competitive project estimates.
• Review drawings, specs and contract documents to identify scope, quantities and potential cost implications.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, project managers and procurement teams to clarify requirements and refine cost estimates.
• Prepare variation orders and supplementary estimates in response to design changes or scope modifications.
• Maintain cost databases and estimating records for historical analysis and future reference.
• Provide cost planning advice and value engineering to optimise budgets.
• Monitor actual costs against estimates and provide variance analysis and cost control reporting.
• Support tendering by preparing clear bid documents.
