Job summary

Scale Partner is hiring a Property Accountant specialized in AppFolio to own books for a new third-party management division. This fully remote role handles trust accounting, reconciliations, AP, distributions, and monthly accrual close for a multifamily portfolio with future retail assets.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years of property accounting experience, fluent English, and a proactive, ownership mindset. Work hours align with U.S.

Qualifications

Property accounting experience in AppFolio.
Bank and trust reconciliations, AP, owner distributions, monthly accrual close.
Understanding of trust account structures and trade-offs.
Ownership mindset—treat the books as your own.
Solution-oriented approach to improve workflows and processes.
Experience documenting processes as SOPs.
Minimum 3 years of property accounting experience, college educated, fluent English.

Responsibilities

Manage trust accounts and bank reconciliations monthly.
Enter bills and prepare payment batches for approval; payments approved before release.
Calculate owner distributions and management fees.
Prepare monthly owner statements.
Close monthly accrual in AppFolio.
Keep AppFolio clean: COA, property/owner setup, ledgers.
Onboard new properties and owners into AppFolio.
Write SOPs for close and recurring processes.
