Job summary

Visa is seeking an experienced APAC Payroll Operations Lead in the Philippines. You will direct day-to-day payroll work, align with global initiatives, and coach junior staff.

The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder management, and compliance across APAC regions. You will partner with internal and external teams to optimize processes, drive analytics, and ensure accurate payroll delivery while adhering to local laws.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor's Degree.
• Minimum 3 years of people management experience.
• Deep working knowledge in APAC payroll statutory regulations.
• Able to maintain good working relationships with payroll vendors and stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of payroll risks, compliance and controls within complex and multi country environments.
• Proficiencies in automation and use of AI tools.
• Meticulous with strong analytical, organization and planning skills.
• Ability to prioritize, organize and coordinate multiple projects.
• Must be comfortable working in a fast paced, hands on, growth oriented work environment.
• Exposure and knowledge of working with various payroll systems.
• Exposure to knowledge transfer activities such as transition planning, knowledge transfer, process documentation, etcetera.
• Proficient in English communication skills both verbal and written and with customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Candidates with the ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese will have an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Asia Pacific payroll operations, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
• Oversee junior team members and mentor on end-to-end payroll processes.
• Address payroll queries with a customer-centric approach.
• Maintain data governance and policy communication for earnings, deductions, timekeeping and government reporting.
• Produce analytics and recommendations to improve operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and optimize processes.
• Support audits and compliance documentation required by government agencies.
• Participate in payroll projects or change requests to improve the working environment.
