Job summary

Western Union Philippines is seeking a Compliance Assurance professional to oversee QA processes within the compliance organization. You will review controls, train teams on ML/TF trends, and ensure accuracy and risk mitigation across customer activity assessments.

You will lead calibration sessions, provide actionable feedback to stakeholders, and identify opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements while staying current with AML/CFT typologies and regulatory changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Minimum of 2 years in AML compliance, Bank Secrecy Act, or risk-based compliance.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to identify and escalate compliance risks.
• Experience in process improvement or project management in compliance or risk.
• Proficiency in MS Office with advanced Excel for data analysis.
• Strong communication skills; ability to deliver feedback.
• Knowledge of AML/CFT technologies is a plus.

Job description

Role Responsibilities

In this role, you will operate within the compliance organization with a primary focus on process oversight. This includes performing quality assurance reviews, working closely with operations team to improve the process, uptraining the team on existing and emerging ML/TF trends, reviewing related controls and making sure they are performing as expected.

• Ensure quality standards are maintained and adhered to while executing the oversight of the program.
• Provide actionable, clear and concise feedback with recommendations to key internal and external stakeholders to maintain and improve processes.
• Conduct regular quality assurance reviews to assess the accuracy and effectiveness of assessments and risk mitigation efforts.
• Perform in-depth analysis of customer activities, identifying risks and red flags during ECDD reviews and escalating concerns when necessary.
• Lead and coordinate calibration sessions with relevant teams to ensure consistency in decision making processes.
• Identify opportunities for business training, and process improvements based on oversight duties, making recommendations for automation or efficiency improvements where applicable.
• Stay up to date with emerging AML/CFT typologies, regulatory changes, and trends, passing this knowledge into practical trainings sessions for internal teams.

Role Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience in financial services, compliance or risk management is preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in any of the following: Bank Secrecy Act, AML Compliance, or general and/or risk-based compliance.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail, especially in evaluating complex customer profiles and transactions.
• Ability to identify and assess compliance risks and elevate issues to appropriate level when necessary.
• Demonstrate experience in process improvement or project management, particularly in compliance, risk or operational areas.
• Proven ability to work independently, making informed decisions aligned with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Proficiency in MS Office Applications, with advanced excel skills for data analysis, reporting and process tracking.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience in delivering feedback.
• Knowledge of current and emerging technologies in AML/CFT such as transaction monitoring tools, data analytics, and AI-based systems is a plus.
