Job Description
Business Unit: Product Pricing Level: Assistant Manager Reporting Line: Actuarial Manager
Position Accountability Statement
Responsible for the accurate and timely pricing of corporate accounts, release of quotations and actuarial reports within established turnaround times and authorized limits.
Supervises the assigned Actuarial personnel by managing people and processes, including workload planning, task delegation, performance monitoring, issue escalation, coaching and development, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- 1. Oversees the daily operations and deliverables of the team.
- 2. Processes, analyzes, reviews, and approves initial and revised quotations within authorized limits, including key corporate accounts based on Medical Utilization Cost (MUC).
- 3. Recommends final rates and ensures the proper application of pricing assumptions, guidelines, and policies.
- 4. Endorses quotations beyond authorized limits to the appropriate approving authority with supporting analysis and recommendations.
- 5. Reviews and resolves escalated pricing, quotation, and product-related concerns and supports Sales in pricing discussions requiring higher-level approval.
- 6. Prepares and reviews regular and ad hoc pricing reports, analyses, and management/SMT requirements.
- 7. Monitors team performance, manages workload, provides coaching and feedback, and identifies training and development needs.
- 8. Recommends and implements improvements to pricing processes, methodologies, guidelines, controls, and workflows including automation and special projects and coordinates with other concerned departments.
- 9. Participates in third-party and in-house audits and ensures compliance with applicable G&R and ISO requirements.
- 10. Assists the department in the development and monitoring of KRAs, KPIs, and other management requirements.
- 11. Performs other related functions as may be assigned by the Immediate Superior.
Qualifications
Education:Graduate of BS Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or other related Mathematics courses. Experience:
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of supervisory experience; or
- At least five (5) years of relevant experience in an HMO or Health Insurance environment.
- Experience in corporate pricing, quotation, actuarial analysis, or healthcare insurance is an advantage.
Knowledge
- HMO and health insurance products and processes
- Advanced Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Power BI and other relevant actuarial software
- Pricing and quotation processes including pricing guidelines, approval limits, and procedures
- Actuarial and data analysis principles
- G&R and ISO requirements
